Ever been a hero? Saved someone from a burning building? Jump into the water to save a drowning kid? Stop someone from being mugged?

I once saved this 2 or 3 year old kid who was flailing face down in a stream. He was slowly drifting down-stream so I picked him up and saved him. Not that difficult since the water was only knee deep and the kid was really small. He started crying when he was out of the water and his mom ran over.

I wonder if I could jump in if I ever come across a situation where I could put myself at risk to save someone. I like to think I would but I never know until I'm actually in that situation.

Someone in my math class once needed a pencil.

I provided one; saved the whole day IMO

I lost my watch at a party once. An hour later I saw some guy stepping on it while he was harassing some woman at that party. Infuriated, I immediately went over, punched him and broke his nose. No one does that to a woman, not on my watch.

Today the guy in front of me had a broken tail light with his registration saying 08-18, and there was a cop behind us.

I tailgated him for about 10 miles until the cop turned off.

Tried to save a couple buddies that were caught in the undertow of a low water bridge. Kept getting washed downstream when I’d jump in and couldn’t get to them.

I'm nicking that for later use..

I once did CPR on a woman and slipped her the tongue.

Just thought of one story. I have a buddy who's in a special ops unit in the army. He happened on a guy who was lying on the sidewalk bleeding. The guy wasn't breathing so he did CPR and called an ambulance. Saved the guy's life. He's a guy I could see stepping to help people without hesitation. He also has the training too.

I have a couple stories of friends who put me at risk trying to help me too now that I think about it.
Had a guy push into traffic as he warned me about an incoming car. Luckily I was able to shift myself the other direction. Had another guy spot me while I was benching and lift the bar from one end when I failed the rep.

I used to bodyboard as a kid, we were on vacation with some family friends, there was these two girls that were part of the group, and I noticed they were deep in the ocean, so I came up to them with my board to ask them what they were doing so far away, they said the ocean dragged them and they can't get back to shore, I told them to hold on to the board meanwhile I swam/dragged them back to shore then went back to bodyboarding, they were extremely thankful for saving them.

I hoped they properly thanked you if you know what I mean

I was dating this chick who had a much younger brother. She was 23, he just turned 4. They didn’t know it at the time but he was was autistic. Personally I knew something was wrong with him. 4 years old and couldn’t talk. They didn’t believe me that he was challenged at first, but I’ll get back to that.

So me and my girl ended up looking after him while his mother was in the hospital. We take him to a park. Kid runs towards the pond. Girl is yelling at him to come back. He runs in and keeps going, and keeps going. He’s under. Oh fuck. So I had to run out into this nasty little pond and drag the kid out. I can’t remember exactly what we did, I’m no CPR expert, but got the water out of him and drove him to the hospital just to check. My car was soaked as fuck. Kid cried for two hours straight. but he was ok once we bought him some DQ. He loved DQ.

It was after that I reiterated the kid was challenged and told them to have him checked. I had two women super pissed at me. 2 months later, after we broke up, she called me. Told me I was right. Well, duh, kid ran into a lake.

Hardly heroic but closest I have.

Waiting in line at IKEA and this 2yo kid is climbing over one of those gates they use to block Isles.
He reaches the top and then falls over head first and is going to land head first into the concrete from about 1 metre high.

I caught him one handed by the back of his jumper.

Wasn't like I put myself in danger to save him but i did save him from getting seriously fucked up.

I've never done any heroic shit, the opportunity has never presented itself. I mainly just do random acts of kindness.

That's awesome, some parents are awful at keeping an eye on their children, they shouldn't reproduce imo.

My 'hero' stuff is done to animals. The last one was a horse who was being neglected by the owner. The bitch would not feed or water the horse. When I tried doing it, she got very belligerent. Tried buying the horse from her but she would not sell it. I would still sneak in at night and water and feed the animal. He was alone and was always happy to see me. A beautiful animal. This went on for about a year and I finally got fed up with it when we got close to winter. His water would freeze.

So, I decided to do a 'rescue'. I said: 'Fuck this stupid bitch. I'm trespassing on her property and stealing her horse right from under her nose.' Yes, there was a risk of being shot. Waited till it got dark, cut the wiring on her fence and roped the animal. He walked with me to another neighbor in another location who had similar color horses. I snuck him in there with the other horses. No need to cut his fence, just picked the lock.

It was a miracle no one saw me. No neighbors or people driving by. The horse was a little hesitant and scared at first, but luckily he did not 'buck' at the idea.

The horse is now very happy with his new friends and owner. The neighbor thinks he miscounted how many horses he had. The lady never did find out what happen to her animal and don't think she really cares.

I've done similar things with dogs. They are easier to snatch away from a cruel owner.
