Your favorite unpopular fights

I know we get a lot of unpopular opinions, and fav fighters threads but why not the fights you got into and enjoyed that others shit on for whatever reason.


Overeem vs. Werdum - anyone who knows me knows my incessant hate for anything heavyweight but I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this fight. Overeem getting outworked in the clinch was a shocker, and the ground strategy (while failing horribly) was spectacular.


Severn vs Shamrock - Probably too old school for most of you but anyone who saw this slap fight knows what I'm talking about. If anything else for who these guys were made this fight a big deal.

I enjoy Condit/Diaz every time I watch it. Despite what nuthuggers say Condit picked Diaz apart for the better part of 25 minutes. Didn't understand the controversy, thought Carlos clearly won. I understand everyone thought that this was just going to be a barn burner (so did I), but I respected and enjoyed watching Carlos employ his gameplan.

GSP vs. Hendricks.
Loved the butthurt and bitching from everybody afterwards. I agree that Hendricks won the fight if scored in its entirety, but chuckled at how GSP even when losing was able to find a way to steal back the momentum and a controversial decision afterwards.

Same! I knew that it would only take one solid shot from Hendo or a big counter from Machida to alter that fight. Was tense watching it the whole time.

Lol, a great fight? It was a terrible fight by any means. I thought that even the decision was terrible, let alone the fight himself.

Benson/Melendez

People hated the decision so much that they don't even want to talk about it and say Gil was robbed upfront. They didn't even recall show great and intense the fight is. It was a brawl. And I can see how Benson won it, rounds 3, 4 and 5, IMO.
