I am almost always disappointed when I rewatch Shamrock vs Royce.
I watched it several times, even this year in fact, wondering just why he didn't manage to beat Royce.
It would have absolutely spun the foundations of the UFC on its head and I assume that shootfighting would have been the go to martial art of mystery for the general public.
We still would have had more UFC events. But even more so, I think the Japanese MMA scene would have had more recognition in the US of A at an earlier time. Perhaps PRIDE could have then been the mainstay and the UFC would have died?
Man I love a bit of fantasy history.
