What belt do you have and how long have you been trainig?
bjj white - 2 weeks
wrestling first degree black - 6 yrs (ears drained once)
Judo, Green Belt, 6 years
The belt system I'm under goes: white, yellow, orange, green, then 3 levels of brown, black+.
How are you still a green belt after six years?
Oh, BJJ white(2 years) and Judo brown (3.5 years).
Judo Orange Belt (1 1/2 year)
3 1/2 Years of Wrestling
yeller belt - almost 2 years
white, yellow, green, brown, brown 1 stripe, brown 2 stripe, black
Just kidding, up until very recently I trained at 6 different schools over that 6 years. So one week I was training at one school, the next week another place, that kind of thing. There was no school in my area so it was an hours drive to any school. Because of that me and some buddies also started doing garage judo (informal practice, no instructor). Only recently have we gotten a judo black belt to take over our club. He says I should be a brown and is gonna' promote me, probably within a month. Right now I can hang with brown's no problem in randori, however I suck at tournaments.
Judo Brown after maybe 15 years on & off. I stayed at blue for ages & was too slow in getting back into competition to get points for my shodan. Shodan next year for sure, the points are almost there.
Judo white, training 1 month.
bjj blue, 3 years
inching towards the purple, maybe one more year or so
BJJ white belt with 2 black stripes...training about 4 months or so. My goal is get a blue belt by next summer, which will be a total of just over ayear or so of training. I dunno, kinda lofty but something to shoot for.
BJJ - blue, 3 years
Judo - yellow (I trained for 3 months when I was 12!)
BJJ purple. Just barely over 5 years...
BJJ 7 month white belt - 2 stripes but now there is one because I washed it too many times.
Im a whitebelt in BJJ and have been doing it for little more than 1,5 years. I did judo for a year or something when i was a kid.
BJJ whitebelt, doing it for 6 months to the day.
Man you have done very well in Judo. Brown in 3,5 years. Great job
Brown belt (testing for black at the end of the year), TJJ, 3.5 years.
BJJ whitebelt (with some blood! haha). Been training for nearly 9 months, but have had 2 months out with injuries.
I'd imagine the blue is still far away, but I have a 3 hour Braulio Estima seminar soon, so that should help.
I am not really concerned about my belt. Yeah, it would be cool to have a orange belt (Judo) or higher, but to me, I am just there to:
1. Lose weight
2. Learn something new
3. Break up the monotany of daily life
I would be happy being a white belt for the rest of my days.
