    Was....?

The fans. This fight was epic, a back n forth fuckin battle of attrition and i was expecting a one sided beating.

So come on sherdoggers... Regardless of all the bs jones is spewing out his mouth and ruining his legacy with everyword he speaks. (Still can't believe the "I fought at 70% bullshit") we, as fans, witnessed one of, if not the very best main event fights we've ever seen!!

Gus left that cage a winner, so did Jones!

The Jones haters are the ones who really won. There's finally a real blemish on Jones's record.

I think Gus lost the fight, but his stock went way up so he still wins.

Jones looked very human, even in gutting out the win.

Just like the four minute mile it will happen again now that people saw it happen once.

    what tc said was true

Jones won by 1 point, but the match was not even a winning match to either side neither Jones or Gus.

A unanimous decision victory is not a blemish.

Jones' loss to Hamill was a real blemish however.

I don't care what anyone says. It was a clear 12-6 elbow that prompted Steve Mazagatti to make the call he eventually made. I don't get the concept of "real losses" in MMA and any other kind of loss. There are a variety of ways to lose in other sports as well, yet they're all counted the same, regardless of how they came to be. Nobody says a tennis player didn't really lose because he served the ball into the net too many times, or a team didn't really lose because an umpire called a player safe when he should have been called out at a critical moment. Fans of other sports are sophisticated enough to understand that even if unfair, a loss is still a loss, and a blemish on the record.

A lot of the fans didn't seem to get the memo unfortunately.

Wrong. As a Dallas Stars fan in Hockey, do you know how often I hear Buffalo fans still crying about the Hull Goal? Nearly weekly. That might be a Canadian thing, but fans are always debating controversial sports calls.

They may cry about what happened, but the difference is they're not saying that they didn't actually lose the game. They fully recognize what a loss means - most notably that you didn't win.

On the other hand, many MMA fans will say for example that Shogun is 2-0 against Machida, as if it were true, simply because they disagreed with the judges in one instance. Or that Jon Jones is undefeated even though he clearly has a loss on his record.
