You ever feel like you just picked up a 500 dollar bill off the side walk?

That's how I feel sometimes when I stumble upon a gem sequestered in some corner of the intertubes, like a coaching seminar given by he who must not be named.

Some things that I took away:

If a guy tries to shoot in on you, punch them (with your hip).

Toe walking is the difference between a good sprawl and a great sprawl.

The high crotch is less of a 'move' in of itself, and more of a set up/transition into another move (as it is simply the shortest distance between getting your arms around his leg).

When a guy funks on you, you get both legs on one side (he basically shows how to pass deep half).

'Idle hands' in neutral is caused by not having a clear idea in your mind of a hierarchy of less valuable to more valuable grips, and working to get the most valuable grips.

If you get good at the punch pass push, you'll win six world titles.

That channel has a bunch of seminars, they are all great. The Coleman Scott and the stand up clinic by Zack Esposito are personal favorites of mine.

I have no idea why some of these videos have so few views. This one is also pure gold:

Commemorating the new year, here's another gem i found sifting through the silt.

At first glace it looked like your typical empty calorie clickbait listicle fare, but Georgi Karakhanyan's name on the top caught my eye, since i know hes got one of the sickest guillotines in mma.

And wouldn't you know, most was pretty pedestrian and unelaborated as expected, but then at the end, he drops a crucial, choice detail on how to finish the arm in guillotine.

Nice stuff in here. The hip punch is no joke, I've gotta guy where i'm at that's a master at it.....it's fun to watch people shoot on the guy.

Once you get the feel for it.. its literally like punching someone in the face with your hip, a good way to practice is to face a mat wall with your palms on the wall in a stance. Drop level and smash hip bone into wall hard, try to make a loud crack with it, repeatedly

what was the tip? The part where he said to connect his shoulder to his knee essentially squeezing the side oblique? Or the part where he mentions something about shoulder over his head?

Yes. But especially the connection; great mnemonic device.

Thank you for sharing. The John Smith video is a gem.

I stumbled upon a Japanese YouTube user who had uploaded a bunch of Ryan hall dvds. They had been up for about a year so I figured I didn't need to rush to watch them. Got thru a good chunk of the first defensive guard DVD, came back like a day later and they were all deleted.

Lol, I found the same channel about a month ago. After having the same experience as you in a similar past instance I immediately went to a YouTube vid saving site and downloaded that one and the open elbow.

Ah, the reminds me of another situation i had once where i came across a a most excellent instructional by Sergei Beloglazov that had been uploaded to youtube and had the exact same thought.

Edit: found it;

More solid gold (the channel has a bunch of other stuff too).
