ill bump this after losers
BJ will pull out,
I see Yair being put down in an upset. Though I wouldn't consider it an upset if BJ wins.
You don't know shit about MMA if you think any fight has a guaranteed outcome
What if he isn't motivated?
I wouldn't guarantee Penn do do anything at this point. However He may go down as the ballsiest fighter of all time
I hope you are right.
I know a lot about MMA, and if you did, you would know it's impossible to predict a fight like that
A young kid who is coming up and close to his prime vs a legend who has not fought in 2 years and is clearly past his physical peak? There is no guarantees of anything.
I hope you're right. I'm coming back here after the fight
Rofl i was legit googling for images of this before even scrolling down to see responses, was about to post when i saw this
BJ ain't doing shit. Yari is a horrible match up for him. UFC screwed him for the iv and pulling out. Sean Shelby is a nerd.
Then it doesn't count!!!
BJ never lost
I certainly could see it. Bj has always had underrated wrestling, he just doesn't have the gas tank to stick to it usually.
With how bad Yairs hands looked against leeroy though I would think BJ's easiest path to victory is through boxing.
If he's gonna win then that would be the way.
Back in 2014, Roots of Fight did a really cool mini documentary on Penn. They interviewed him at the Mendes Bro's new academy in California, and had some fun clips with other fighters like Florian and Rousey talking about BJ.
At one point they hand Penn an iPad and he watches the old footage of him winning the Mundials 15 years ago - they splice footage of his epic win with his reaction watching it.
Penn made this somewhat bone chilling comment I'll never forget - he says "My triangle is a diamond now. It hurts when I try to close my legs."
Time waits for no man, and the lighter divisions are a young mans game. At 38 he may as well be 130 in a division like featherweight. He's one of my favorite fighters of all time, arguably my favorite - but his body can't will itself through the rigors of MMA anymore.
This is a bad matchup and an ill advised return of the Prodigy. War BJ.
It will be such an ill bump that I'll even take screencaps of it.
Yeah cause BJ's known for his unstoppable takedowns
