Are you thinking of DPT, dipropyltryptamine? Because that doesn't occur naturally and has to be synthesized, the ingredients necessary being tightly controlled. It used to be more common, but now the only way to get it is from one church/cult that has an exemption to produce and use it for "religious reasons." DMT occurs in damn near everything alive, and in quantities sufficient for extraction and purification in many, many plants, most acacia trees, reeds, some grasses, mimosa hostilis trees, psychotropia viridis, and many more. As the guy you quoted said, a simple A/B extraction can yield highly pure DMT that is indistinguishable from synthesized. I've smoked both many times, it's the same experience. A strong ayahuasca brew is the same experience as well, just lasting several hours rather than a few minutes.
