who is the more accomplished judoka? I saw something on tv saying that ogawa might be more accomplished because 1) he fought at heavyweight and 2) had a better domestic record than yoshida... Is this true? If we are just talking about judo accomplishments.. who was the better judoka?

Ogawa had numerous Japanese and world titles, and silver medal in the olympics. Yoshida had the gold from the same olympics.

Gold > all?

Gold > all?

Yoshida also has a 1st in world championships.

In judo, Yoshida > Ogawa. imo.

Yosh also fought judo much lighter than he is now.

yoshida has two world championships and a gold

he has also been in over 1000 matches

so I dunno

i'd got with Yoshida, simply because he won two world championships.

didnt Yoshida once beat a much heavier Ogawa?

yea i'm pretty sure that yoshi beat ogawa in judo

Yoshida won a gold medal, while Ogawa won silver at the same Olympics. Based on this, and this alone, Yoshida is the more accomplished Judoka.

Yosh has competed in three different weightclasses, and has less tournament wins than Ogawa. Ogawa is one of the four guys to have ever won the HW and absolute title in a world champ, Ogawa is a Judo legend, Yosh was a brilliant competitor

I believe it is a mortal sin to mention HG without including any pics. Just letting you know.
