Yes if you know what you are doing. You can use it to fix unwanted curvatures of the spine.

So how are you supposed to do ?

I have a slightly exaggerated thoracic kyphosis from boxing ( and probably hypertonic shoulder internal rotators )
 
Pointless piece of equipment. Don't waste your money. They can be kind of fun to play soccer with, but that's about it.

There is so much you can do for that. Lay on the ball right where your kyphosis is exagerated. Stretch your pecs with dumbells. Reach back overhead with dumbbells to work shoulder mobility. Also do some pullovers really streching back while laying that part of the spine on the swiss ball.
