He will fight for the interim belt, not the real one. If it would be not for the interim title, where does that put Rockhold and Yoel after someone wins their fight? The winner would still have the biggest claim to fight Whittaker.

And where does Kelvin fit in all this? Being overlooked

If he's wins he gets to hang a belt on his wall. All that matters.

If you bring up Kelvin than Weidman had to be mentioned.

Weidman choked Kelvin into tapping in his last fight.
I'm a big fan of weidman. Sure he beat Kelvin. But he is 1-3 in his last 4? While Kelvin is 3-1 in his last 4 with a recent KO over the recent Champion?

I'm a fan of Kelvin and think he deserves a contender's fight. Him vs the winner of Jacare vs Brunson makes sense too me.

But I feel Romero and Rockhold was the proper match to make.

Oh I agree for sure that was the fight to make. Huge Rockhold fan. But also a Kelvin fan and wanna see where he plays into all this

Yoel has win over former champ Weidman who was much better champ than bisping. Kelvin lost to Weidman recently. Yoel has another win against former champ Machida. He also has a win against Strikeforce champ Jacare.

Just get out with Kelvin bs.

He doesnt really, dude needs to diet his lazy ass back down to 170 where he actually has a decent shot at being champ. Yoel, Rockhold, Jacare, Brunson, Whittaker, and most natural 185ers not way past their prime fuck him up IMO

Kelvin did not KO GSP

I'm probably the biggest Weidman fan, after his dad, but I'll admit it: Gastelum >>>>>>>>>>> Weidman.

Gastelum took that night off, like he did against Woodley and Magny (and I still think he beat Magny, but anyway) and he still almost knocked Weidman out in R1.

Let's put the Kennedy and Vitor wins in perspective. One guy came back after a 2 year break and immediately retired after Kelvin wiped the floor with him. Vitor is knocking on retirements door.

Those wins are not relevant to the title picture.

So then he loses his first fight against an actually contender in the division: Weidman. Don't give me that took a night off crap. Gastelum tried his best, almost won but ultimately tapped. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Then he KOs the former champ, who is also on retirement's doorstep, in the formers champ's first fight since losing the title.

Makes him 1-1 in relevant fights in the 185 division.

And this is coming from a Gastelum fan.
