News Yoel Romero says his next fight is against Corey Anderson for the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship on October 19th in Saudi Arabia. Ngannou?

Yoel is 47, this is insane.
I still think its time for him but he probably thinks different, but every other person should not be fighting world class opposition at 47 that is only for the special specimen among us.

Yoel SHOULD be able to win this. Never been much of a fan but the worst thing going into this is his age. He's the better wrestler, striker, more decorated fighter for certain. Corey seems to wilt in fights as well when things aren't going his way. He's certainly no Whittaker.

Corey is better than Pereira.

As long as he's not taking much damage I think it's fine. Guys like him and AA are just coasting through paychecks while going the distance more often than not in meh fights.

Corey should win but he's always got a chance of being KO'd by a very powerful guy.

Sure but how long until he actually gets seriously hurt by someone, also his cardio never was the best at this point I would not even surprised if he just gets TKOed by exhaustion eventually.

If Nemkov couldn't do it I don't see many guys being able to at this stage.

I do think by 50 he should be stepping away, but he's done a pretty good job of limiting the damage he takes and still manages his gas tank pretty well. He won the 5th against Vadim, so his endurance still seems the same - short bursts of offense lets him stay in the fight for the long haul.

The only thing that's really changed is him not getting 3rd round finishes all that often anymore, with the exception of Polizzi.

Yeah it worked so far he is a special human I agree, but like you said he should be stopping soon. I highly doubt he will be the same fighter at 50 he was at 40 or even now at 45-47. Last thing I wanna see is this guy get seriously hurt because I know he got the heart to keep going.
