Yair's cut from UFC scared Alan Jouban into accepting Germany fight

but he's probably talking about his cornermen. it seems like the ufc only pays for 1 cornermen (when fighters usually have 3)

He gets a flight for himself and one corner. They will both be flying economy, and have one hotel room.

So fighters who all understandably need multiple people to travel with them have to come out of pocket for a second or third flight and obviously another hotel room.

It's pretty absurd and should get tweaked, but fighters have zero advocacy. Jouban is fighting an opponent he doesn't want in a country he doesn't want to fight in, despite being a positive record veteran well into his UFC career.

This is why fighters need an association, and I NEVER complain about a fighter holding out for more money or a better deal. The UFC wrings this guys out like a towel and tosses them in the bin when they're done with them.

A lot of international fighters have to fly daft hours to the US, so I'm not sympathetic to the long flight BS.

That's fine then UFC needs to shut the fuck up about their " we take care of our fighters" talk.

Obviously they don' give a shit about their guys unless they are immediate money makers and refuse to offer a helping hand as a show of respect and professionalism.

They do get their flights paid for, usually. Heard they only cover one cornerman, which I don't agree with.

Believe it or not, being in an international fighting organisation means you fight internationally.

This.
Plenty of Europeans have to travel to the US to fight Americans in their backyard, why not the other way around? UFC is supposed to be international.

“[Then] they threw me Germany, July 22nd,” Jouban said. “So I went back to them and I was pissed, and I was like, ‘Hell no. Why am I going to Germany?’ You know, why am I flying 18 hours and spending all this money on flights and hotels when I could fight right at home? So I turned it down, man. I turned down the fight. And this is in the same timeline that the stuff was going on with Yair Rodriguez, where he turned down a fight and they cut him."

.

Hold so the UFC doesn't pay for the fighters flights?

They do, I mean, unless they changed something, but I know the UFC pays for travel expenses for 1 fighter and I think up to 2 training partners. I remember Tim Johnson was complaining, he couldn't bring 4 with him, lol

Joe Lauzon back in this 2016 article provided info on UFC expenses:

-UFC pays for flights for the fighter and 1 corner man (doesn't say if it's economy or business class). If the fighter wants additional corner men, he has to pay for their flights.
-UFC pays for 1 hotel room for 1 week (doesn't specify type of room). If you want additional rooms at the hotel, that's your expense. Also mentions UFC reimburses fighters for hotel room if they don't use it.
-UFC pays a per day diem (food) for 1 week. Something like $50 a day each for fighter and 1 cornerman.

Hopefully he wins & earns a performance bonus for accepting the inconvenient fight

Ok that's fair I guess. Otherwise fighters would try and sneak there mothers and girlfriends along with them lol. I wonder how many people does Alan rolls with.
