Yair really has come along way from the Frankie fight. Props too him, first he subbed Ortega(Weird/unfortunate injury) to this performance tonight. Incredible. He's really rounded out his game whilst still maintaining his fan friendly and flashy style. Happy for him.
Nice little pulldown on the shin to push Emmett's carotids further into compression. Sleepy time, next.
So hard to watch. This was Emmett’s last chance. Couldn’t find any reads on Yair and just winging haymakers to the point he was falling over himself. You can tell Yair gameplanned spamming those to Bolivia and it worked. Emmett was badly hurt coming into the second round.
Rodriguez has improved more in the last 2 years than he did in the first 8yrs in the UFC. Pretty impressive. that left kick to Emmett's midsection was BRUTAL.
Seriously, nobody is talking about how the ref literally took his own hand and freed Yair’s toes from the cage which he then immediately transitioned into the submission?
A fighter may place their feet onto the cage and have their toes go through the fencing material at any time. When a fighter's fingers or toes go through the cage and grab hold of the fence and start to control either their body position or their opponent's body position it now becomes an illegal action. He was simply trying to stop something he thought might be illegally holding the fence. It happens routinely
If that's your read of what occurred, you might be insane. You might as well be complaining about voodoo chakra the ref was emitting.
Looks like a different fighter from his TUF days. Still throws a lot of crazy shit but is way more technical with it and has good bjj now.
The ref doing the refs job had literally nothing to do with Yair finishing his submission. You are reaching here so hard and just falling flat on your face. Great performance by Yair he went in there with the plan and preparation to beat Josh in every single facet of the fight. Do not diminish his skill and preparation by trying to say he won due to fluky bad refereeing which is NOT the case.
