If he lands that on the head with his shin, he will crack the opponants skull and probably break his shin too...

Is that not like 12-6 elbow?

No because it's with his leg and not his elbow and not a 12 to 6 angle and not similiar in any way.

Its probably more dangerous risk than the 12-6 elbow to opponants well being though

I think all techniques thrown by fighters you don't like should be banned, just for those fighters, and when they are facing another fighter you don't like, they get an exemption and can throw whatever they want.

A shin kick to the head is more dangerous than a 12-6 elbow but they're not making that illegal any time soon.

Those elbows only got made illegal in the first place because the original judges watched some of those karate brick breaking demonstrations.

    Poor troll effort.

While I'm here, the 12-6 elbow should never be allowed due to it fitting inside the eyesocket, whereas any other trajectory hits the eyebrows/nose/cheekbones. This is also different from the point of the elbow hitting the eyeball while on the feet, where the head has somewhere to recoil from the blow.

I thinks strikes and submissions should be banned for fighter safety.

Fighters should only people able to use harsh words against each other. And judges will score based off that.

It would be a lot easier to hit them in the eye with your arm at 3-9 with their head than 12 -6. It really shouldn't be illegal at all, that is the real answer

But the elbow/upper forearm makes contact with the bridge of the nose and/or the outside of the eyesocket, decreasing the force of the blow and spreading out the striking point. Only when elbowing with a folded arm can it really fit inside the socket unimpeded.

Also, this is far more harmful on the ground, where the eye has nowhere to go. Yes, people could still take a pinpoint shot to the eyeball with a legal elbow, but it would be much more difficult. I don't think it's a terrible tradeoff to keep our fighters in peepers.

Never understood the 12-6 ban in mma. Works just fine in muay thai.

If you're going to the eye on the same side as your elbow yes the nose will be in the way. If you're going across its a perfect fit. The nub of the ulna sticks out going sideways and will fit in there a lot better than your elbow going down, which is a lot fatter than that nub at the end of your sideways elbow.

Ive never heard it was banned to protect eyes before, I'm pretty sure that's not a thing
