y people dislike alexander/krazy horse/kimbo

Annoying, infantile, stupid...ummm...I guess that covers it.

are you saying that you've never participated or at least know of many people who have had back yard brawls? Its not like they were Vale Tudo matches, there were rules and there was money on the line. Buts Its not like that was how he made his living, the dude just likes to fight.

*shrugs*

I like classy, professional fighters. He doesnt fit that description.

Aside from Kimbo, Herring and Alexander are just perfect examples of Dana and the rest of the UFC hype up pretty much average fighters. Kimbo isn't being hyped this way simply because he is not in the UFC yet, if he were, we would be seeing commercials about how he is the greatest fighter ever. So bassically, Dana White makes me hate Crazy Horse and Alexander. And the fact that they both disgust me to watch, they should both fight to the death, in which both of them lose.

Kimbo has a ton of class and drive, he is determined to make it in professional MMA. You don't see him on TV talking dumb shit. Kimbo has more class than a whole bunch of other MMA fighters. I don't see where you are coming from.

my whole point is most these guys have destroyed or at least dented the concept that a guy w/one dimension or is dynamically athletic/powerful/dynamic can't beat a skilled or at least competently balanced mma fighters.

while they have lost to the very BEST or the better guys, they still have been effective against SOME contenders or lower tier guys; who might not have the best, but have much much better set of skills.

we can talk about low level guys etc; but the fact of the matter is the guys they beat for the most part, ALL have an overall better skillsets than these one dimensional athletic aggressive brawlers.

an i listed guys they had beaten, guys w/good records...good skills; an they have been able to at least be competitive w/lesser skilled guys.

examples-alexander walked through jardine a top contender and killed sakara, who is no top ten or fifteen guy; but a guy w/ good standup tech and power/speed/timing who can compete w/good to really good guys. Two guys who have competed and done well against some of the better guys in ufc, put it this way gouveia/liddel couldn't beat jardine and houston WALKED through him

krazy horse gave gomi a good fight, a much better fight than ralph gracie, jadson costa, duane ludwig, he blasted noons, who dismantled diaz and killed berto. Not to mention being a skilled muay thai and boxer. Hell he lost to ludwig, but was laying a beating on him til he gassed; he did better against ludwig than pulver goulet did.

so i think people hate them cus they disprove the fact or idea that the superior skilled guy will always win or crush a brawler; not just that but it resonates to people on the street who train, cus once again it shows us that just cus u train if a guy is big strong tough and aggressive he can an possibly will step over u after putting ur ass in the ground.

Surely you jest.

I don't know - he was interviewed with Bas recently after the tank fight and came across like someone who knows his place and knows that he isn't ready for the big fights yet (also backed up by Bas)

I think a lot of the hate comes because of the morons who used to handle him - his old porn entourage were a bunch of mindless, gangsta wannabes who talked shit for him. It was the hangers on and "no fuckin' knees!" guy who did all the trash talk. Notice they aren't around in Bas' gym?

If you remember the Gannon/Kimbo thing, Gannon said that he got the impression Kinbo wasn't looked after and was like an assett to be used and abused. Now he's with Bas he can actually release his potential, and I haven't seen anything (outside the usual marketing) that says he believes his "streetfigthing king" hype - just the usual confidence you need to be a fighter

short version - now he's with real fighters, he is carrying himself like a real fighter

Heh, that is pretty hard to defend isn't it? And MMA doesn't need that!

To be fair, that was the clip that started it all - but like I said, he was surrounded by idiots. Not going to defend the "come on, n*****!" crap, but thats how he talked in that circle of 'friends'

As long as they don't try to market him off that too much, I think its only fair we give him the chance to carry himself as a fighter. If anything, the story of a "streetfighting thug" moving into a sport, making money and learning a bit of humilty is exactly what the sport needs

Lets just hope Bas keeps him in line and he doesn't get surrounded by an entourage of gangster wannabes and people that milk the STREETFIGHTING GANGSTA image.

(this is the clip I was talking about, by the way)
