What do you think? Tacit admission or nothingburger?
China must increase its oversight of laboratories handling dangerous pathogens, President Xi Jinping has told the Communist Party leadership. Biosecurity is an important part of national security and a force that “affects and can even reshape the world”, Xi told the Politburo, the party’s top policymaking body on Wednesday, according to state news agency Xinhua.

It was the Politburo’s first ever group study session specifically focused on biosecurity, highlighting the importance the Chinese leadership has attached to the issue since the onset of the pandemic.

I think its inevitable that all labs that handle pathogens are going to be subject to a review of safety procedures in the aftermath of the pandemic. My personal belief is that we are going to be getting hit with more and more of these new viruses as the climate changes and deforestation increases, so if virology labs are researching them, internationally recognised standards of lab safety should be adopted everywhere to minimise the chance of a future accident. China must also commit to the ban on the wildlife trade and pay closer attention to whats going on in the wet markets.

I don't think he would say that if he was confident that COVID originated from a canoli that was exposed to toxic waste in Italy.

It's not what you think. He means so that they produce more people killing viruses faster. China has benefited greatly from the pandemic.
How has China benefited?

A little too late for that, Xinnie the Pooh

Trump lost the election because of covid, paving the way for Beijing Biden to make China Great again
Did he? Frankly, all of Trump's supporters on Sherdog and in the real world appear to be the same people who insisted it was a hoax: "Just the Flu". Simultaneously, they continue to assert that both lockdown measures and public health resolutions (including the vaccine) have been entirely ineffective at controlling this "hoax" which supposedly isn't of any great alarm, and doesn't kill people, except when this group wishes to decry vaccines.

Don't expect any of it to make any sense. This is Trump's base, after all. Anything that doesn't go their way is a conspiracy, and a lie.

They had the first quarterly recession in 50 odd years, and despite a strong recovery the fall in annual growth was only slightly less than for the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. Most leaders saw improved public opinions from successfully handling the pandemic. I guess you think they could pretty much assume Trump would flub it?

Name one leader that would have come out of covid looking better

Morrison, Trudeau, Merkel, Conte and Macron had all seen significant improvements in their popularity from before March to November 2020. Johnson also had a big bump in March, but his didn't last until November like the others. It wasn't until 2021 that the effect wore off for essentially all of them.

They are all endorsed heavily by the main stream media. All msm does is slander Trump and any conservative and republican politician. It's not the same, not even remotely.

The media only endorses gender benders, pro vaccine fascists, and pro immigration idiots willing to sell out their own countrymen

Scott Morrison is the leader of the conservative party in Australia

Conte's 5 Star Movement is right-wing populism. He just didn't drop the ball with Covid in 2020 (although he's in trouble now, he resigned in January) as other right-wing populists like Trump and Bolsonaro did (I believe he went hard and early with the lockdowns. The first Western Leader to do so). His populism being mostly anti-EU Austerity and Migration.
As Neph mentioned, ScoMo is actually from the socially conservative faction of our Center-Right Liberal party. He just enacted travel restrictions almost immediately, and his blunder with the vaccines only started hurting him this year. He managed to effectively distance himself from the state quarantine blunders in NSW (Liberal party, Center-Right, the top leaders of which have all resigned this week) and Victoria (Labor, Center-Left).

The massive bump in approval from March lasted for most of them until at least the start of this year.
