I dont know if they can just do that. I figure under about two years he'll be a purple, and get his black within 4 years, if that even matters to him.

Its a lot harder (imo) to go from nogi to gi than vice versa.

Purple in about of year is awesome. I kinda hope to follow his foot steps in the future. Since the gi has really sparked my interest lately. keep doing the nogi thing until one day I head out to the new Brazil "California," and find a school.
