WTF!? IOC drops wrestling in the Olympics starting in 2020

Very lame. Especially considering how many useless sports (badminton, table tennis, etc.) are in the Olympics.

What are they supposed to replace it with?
 
More airtime for rhythmic dancing and all that shit.
 
Wrestling was around in the original Olympic games. WTF happened to tradition?

Gotta make room for skateboarding, golf, wake boarding or wuchu (whatever that is).

Seems like they are trying to turn the Olympics into a bunch of all-star exhibitions with NBA, PGA, Tennis pros. Ratings, ratings, ratings. Fuck off and give me wrestling, swimming, track and field, gymnastics...you know, sports that we only watch during the Olympics.
 
Ridiculous, aside from being one of the oldest competitions it's also one of the purest forms of competition there is.

Wrestling will now join seven other sports in applying for inclusion in 2020. The others are a combined bid from baseball and softball, karate, squash, roller sports, sport climbing, wakeboarding and wushu. They will be vying for a single opening in 2020.

There is one spot open for the 2020 games. I doubt wrestling will be beaten out by "sports" like softball, squash and wakeboarding. Sounds like a publicity stunt by the IOC more than anything.

Drop all the traditional grappling sports and just have sub grappling, the one true form of grappling.
 
This is BS. The olympics, is just politics now. Too much money, and too many snobby IOC members who think they know everything. The fact is, they are the biggest retards around.
 
Is this really a surprise? Here in the states wrestling programs have been closing across the nation. It's unfortunate that it comes to this.
 
Maybe removing wrestling as an Olympic sport is the IOC's way of bringing Americans, Russians, Iranians, Chinese, and North Koreans together in unity. An unconventional, yet novel, approach at world relations, and the only possible reason I can come up with for why it was done.

Kim Jong-un's testing of nuclear weapons underground was meant as a warning to the IOC, not us or Japan.
