So these two lightweights have been going at it on social media and it's unlikely to happen anytime soon. But who takes it?

Possibly the best fight outside of the UFC right now.

I think Will Brooks easily dominates and defeats Gaethje.

good call out for wsof and gaethje. he really needs a quality lw to fight.

brooks i think is way more technical and an all around better fighter than gaethje. it would be a good fight to watch, but i'd much rather see brooks fight a ufc top 20.

Good fight but then what? He'll be in same spot Justin is in now with nobody to fight.

I think only way this happens is if UFC doesnt want Brooks which I hope isnt the case.

Gaethje is a live dog against
the top 10 of the world, imo.

Brooks would have his hands
full & would likely have to fight
very conservatively.

What I like in particular about the
match up- is that Gaethje is good
enough to defend against
& implement himself even while
fighting against a skilled point fighter

is this some new
style of haiku

I think Gaethje's habit of getting hit catches up to him and he has a michael chandler inspired temporary dementia moment

It's called
"The Way of the Flo:
Plagiarism in 3 Stanzas"

I learned it from Kenny Florian.

i'd take brooks and gaethje over alvarez at this point.

In terms of what?

I think you'll be pleasantly
surprised with his upcoming
fight with dos anjos. Don't let
one poor fight blur a fighter's
whole history & resume.
Alvarez is much more exciting
than Brooks & would still be
the rightful favorite over both
fighters. Albeit, a slight favorite.

If this fight happen should be in the UFC, i think that (hope I'm wrong) Gaethje is like a fucking shark in a pool in WSOF, and i dont want to see Brooks having the same problem if he beats Justin in the decagon.
In a hypothetical fight i think that Brooks have all the tools to win, Gaethje don't fight smart, and Brooks is one of the most intelligent fighters

I'd much rather see Brooks in the UFC, I'm creaming to see him fight Nurmagomedov, Ferguson, Dos Anjos, Diaz, etc.

WSOF's Lightweight division is their best but Gaethje doesn't have much more contenders ahead of him. All he has left to wipe out is Dugulubgov, High/Ricci winner, Firmino, and maybe Mamedov. Would be a bit sad to see Brooks go from fighting Chandler and Held on tentpoles to those guys in front of 100,000 viewers on TV.

I want to see that fight.

That's the only WSOF I want to see Brooks have though.

I would love to see this i feel like justin would really do good in the stand up but would he get ragdolled once brooks closes the distance?.. Hmm id like to find out

Thread title should read: "Most overrated LW in MMA today calls out most Underrated LW in MMA today."

Fight ain't happening... no way Brooks signs with WSoF.... either UFC, OneFC, or maybe Rizin for acouple fights.

Honestly, I think it would like similar to Cerrone/Alvarez.

Expert over here

Will Brooks needs to show more respect - if it weren't for Bellator, no one would have ever heard of him. He's pretty much dead wood at this point and Bedllator's better off without him. If he wants to go fight in the d-leagues for penuts, let him. No one will miss him. Meanwhile Coker probably just signed another top prospect and they're working on bringing in Fedor, Gina and Rico Verhooven. Brooks will be begging to come back in no time and I hope they tell him to kick rocks.
