WSOF 25 gets 1 night 8 man Tourney

Where was the Battleground O.N.E (One Night Elimination) 8 - man tourney held last year? It was in the States, correct?

They could surely have the event take place there. Plus that tourney had 3 x 5 minute rounds for each fight too.

Like I have said multiple times in this thread, 100s of tribal casinos will hold and allow a tournament no problem throughout the country. Its not a big deal.

The battleground tournament was in Oklahoma.

I'll be amazed if this comes off good.

You know every winner after each fight will have to pass medicals before they go back out there. It won't surprise me if 2 of the winners from the first round don't even make it to the second fight.

Every fighter in Battlegrounds MMA 8 man one night tourney last year made it out to their fights.

Roan Carneiro won by defeating Larson in the final and was ultimately resigned by the UFC because of it

They can definitely pull this off and I reckon all could make it to their next fights.

#1 islam mamedov 12-1 vs #8 macaco patino

#2 joao zeferino vs #7 rich patishnock

#3 mike ricci vs ........

#4 brian cobb vs #5 larue/ foster winner

at this moment...this looks good

Macaco started his MMA career with 8 straight tournaments, most were 8-man tournaments. He won the first five. Made it to the finals in the next two and lost to Pele in his 7 & 8th tournaments.

If he can get past Islam without taking too much damage then he has a good shot at winning it all.

It does look good. It's a competitive field.

Oklahoma but Bellator has a show there that day. But they always enjoy going up against Bellator and UFC so I don't think that'd stop them.

Also, I don't need to justify it but you can't say they aren't copying bellator when they announce this after all the positive hype of Bellator doing a one nighter. Bellator built uts brand on tourneys as well. They're riding Battlegrounds & Bellators coattails with this announcement.

Though not a big fan of tourneys myself I hope to see people copying this. Adds more variety to the scene.
