Umm, I've never heard of specific socks for wrestling, unless you're talking about the ones made by asics or adidas, which are pretty much just regular socks with the price jacked up because there's a brand name on them.
Don't waste your money just wear your normal athletic socks. (I usually double up and wear two pair, cuz I like a snugger fit in my wrestling shoes, but thats a personal preference.)
Actually "wrestling socks" is abit of a misnomer. I would just call them compression socks, though some have grips added to the heel and ball of the foot like a split sole (and yes they make full sole versions). Are they needed? No not at all. But if you want something extra they're not a total waste of money.....so if you absolutely want them:
Of those I've tried I like Takedowns but I personally use two pairs of socks, first a lycra (to wick away moisture) sock and then a regular ankle sock for extra support.....
It's up to you personally, I'm a bit of a tight fisted so I use the two pair method but if you happen to have 10 bucks lying around go for it.
okay i got the sock situation solved. im a boxers-man. but u know these wrestling singlets and compression shorts dont work well with boxers. what kind of underwear do you guys get? hanes? fruit of the loom? calvin klein? p.s. amy don't reply with thong, /
Well brand name here isn't so much a question as much as the style of underwear. Compression shorts. Those are not meant to be pulled over other things, you wear those first. Vale tudo shorts and other stuff can be worn over, but not before.
People seem to like the Shock Dr pair because it has a cup pocket in it. The cup it comes with is very good too.
haha damn amy, i was looking forward to your advice, yea i know the compression shorts are post to be worn first but they feel like wrestling singlets so i wanna keep them outside, i guess any fruit of the loom briefs will do.
plus i cant find vale tudo shorts in my size so the compression shorts will do, but i dont want them to be involved in any nuthuggery, hence briefs needed. hah, i finally used that word in a actual physical context.
