The UFC may not be able to change the unified rules or judging criteria of MMA, but it sure the heck can influence it by eliminating lay n pray fighters from it's roster, thereby, instilling a sense of urgency for other lay and prayers to alter their style. Not to mention, with fewer lay n prayers, the judges will not be faced with placing a value on prolonged top control.

The new rule will not be two or more losses, but one or more boring fights.

Thats BS. Lets not make fighters improve their wrestling/BJJ, lets just get rid of the fighters that expose their weaknesses.

Thats not MMA.

Also, not every wrestler is like Fitch. See Kos, Hendricks, Jones, Edgar, Maynard etc.

The list goes on and on.

I just can't wait for Saturday night! The Sherdog heavyweight forum ever since Fitch got cut has been worse than after an UFC PPV. Same threads just worded differently.

I agree, it is ironic. By cutting top wrestlers the UFC has less wrestlers but is actually becoming more like a pro wrestling organization!

The legitimacy of MMA as the UFC presents it is REALLY in jeopardy.

All the things I said about MMA and what its about to Boxing and WWE fans is coming back in my face to bite me as the UFC strays away form the NFL/MLB/NBA and heads towards the WWE model of sports entertainment not sports.

Probably not great for MMA being legalized in NY either. Really hard to disagree with the UFC not being taken seriously as a legitimate sports organization.

Edgar? Really?

If Dana was consistent with his bullshit reasons for cuts, Edgar should be on the chopping block.

Wrestlers can be exciting finishers. Coleman, Kerr, Lesnar and Hughes knew how to get it done. I think it's more of a war on boring fighting styles than anything - you can be a boring striker or boring BJJ fighter too if you're overly defensive - difference there I guess is that you often end up losing a lot of fights if defensive in those styles.

Apparently between the IOC and the UFC, not a great time to be a wrestler.

For losing to (and having a good claim at actually being the winner in 2 out of the 3 fights) 2 of the top p4p fighters in the world who are becoming or already are dominant champs? There is a difference in losing to gatekeepers and champions. I swear, the cuts are just proving what awful shit fans mma has.

wrestlers in general arent the ones in danger, it's the boring ones

Nobody saying this has any idea what a "legitimate sports organization" actually is. :icon_lol:

Wrestlers like Cormier, Koscheck, Jon Jones, GSP must be shaking in their boots right now.

Exactly. Lay n pray types. There are most certainly plenty of exciting wrestlers in MMA, past and present.

NFL = Legitimate sports organization.

WWE = Sports entertainment.

UFC = On the fringe heading towards sports entertainment.

Anyone that doesnt realize whats going on is a buffoon.

I agree that you don't know what is going on and that you are a bufoon. That much in that previous post is correct.
