The breath thing.. yeah. Mine is still not there.
And I have some weird head aches that comes and goes.
Recovering was a bitch foe me and I once broke my back in a car crash..

The "just the flu" boys should burn in hell or get 3 months of Covid.
They would change their tune in a heart beat.

Ive got one of those dorks with a Greek name on the line right this second. My fault i know better than to engage em.

"To get it out there, I'm a firm believer that critical infrastructure should be nationalized and subsidized to ensure services are given to people on the principle of access,"

@Falsedawn +juan.

We had several services privatized over the years here and mots of the time = increase in prizes and poorer service.
We see some problem now with the private schools, not delivering good education and giving higher grades (if kids know its easier to get good grades they pick that school and the school makes more money).

Just a FYI it has not come up internationally IIRC but Sweden has 50 -100 kids in ICU sick with a inflammation they got from Covid and it could kill them in worst case scenario. Inflammation is called MIS-C
These kids does not have any preexisting health issues.

I know the source is in Swedish, but better than nothing and I dont like to pull things with out a source

Yea dude

It's my opinion that covid is dangerous even if its not fatal and if we just pretend its not real like so many people want to we will be looking at not just the covid disaster in the present but all kinds of health issues for possible years to come.

No one likes living this way but shit happens sometimes and all ya can do is deal with it.

It does not help the US government is more corrupt than other western countries and seems to give 0 shits about peoples financial hardships .... that would be socialism after all and we can't have that or well all be in the gulag tomorrow.

Holy hell, I just read in one of the Parler thread that to verify accounts you had /have to send it a scanned copy of your photo ID... and people did!
Thats so mind blowing dumb I dont even..

People told me to sign up for a card /bank service once. It was based in UK and its huge and well know. During the sign up they asked for a scan of my passport... Yeah that was a huge NO for me and I never signed up.

Copying your photo ID and just send it out... Thats not gonna happen.
I am dumb.. I am not THAT dumb.

@Jack V Savage or @Higus do either of you read much in the way of economic history?

If you're interested in the subject I highly recommend Nicolas Lemann's Transaction Man. It's basically a history of American economic institutions told through the stories of the individuals relevant to their development. First chapter is about Louis Brandeis and Adolf Berle and how their competing visions of the relationship between corporations and government came to fruition with FDR's New Deal. The chapter I just finished was about Michael Jensen and the Chicago school assaulting Berle's vision of the corporation as a social entity and tackling agency problems by making corporate executives shareholders instead of just managers. Jensen was a hardcore efficient markets guy who then flipped when financial markets began to introduce their own misaligned incentives to the equation and finally became a sort of self-help guru. He debated Warren Buffett about whether value investors could beat the market in 1984, though I can only find Buffett's part of of the transcript online.

Anyway, I usually hate the biographical parts of these books but this one weaves them into the overall story in a very satisfying way. It also frames what could be a very broad and generalized discussion around the lives of a few average Americans, which is a connection I appreciate.

Sweden's new pandemic law kicked in during this weekend.
I cant say I heard a single citizen complain, at least no media has reported about.
BUT politicians are raving a bit, not about the law BUT if the government has to shut down Malls or companies, they want the government (which they will) to pay the companies for shutting down.

Thats my view too. If you shut down something well you gotta pay them money so people survive and can pay food and rent.

Yea dude

Our version of capitalism for the poor "socialism " for the wealthy is likely going to be our countries undoing at some point.

When this all kicked off I thought surely this people will do right by the country and not turn this bitch into the hunger games.

I was wrong....Republicans are every bit as shitty at governing as I have always thought.

The worst thing about uncrushable optimism is that no matter what happens you can always be greatly disappointed

“Stay home! But we can’t let you work... oh you want financial assistance too bad”

That’s how it feels here in the States. I’ve been lucky to keep my job but fuck me, shits gotten expensive. Just barebones groceries and shit.

Flank steak was like $15 for a 2-ish pound amount. Now 2 pounds is like $25.

17 votes for corona virus yes. I'd love to hear who.

WE all know @PolishHeadlock2 caught, basically no symptoms. Not that a yes vote means yes.
The vote is yes you’ve been tested for coronavirus. I’ve been tested tons of times but always been negative

Thats insane.
I think if the government helped out by paying peoples salaries, while forced to stay home, you would see a lot less unrest.
A government forcing you not to work and then dont pay or help out... Thats really imo insane and wrong.

I dont know how Denmark did it during their lock downs but I would guess people got paid.
@Sano I gotta ask. How did Denmark do doing complete lock down?
Did you get paid from work or anything? I cant imagine you all were with out money.

You should change your attitude. Always been negative is not good.
Try a smile now and then
