A lot of folks from Toronto about a year and a half ago got wind of the idea they could sell their house in Toronto for over a million dollars, move to nova scotia and buy 4 houses with the money since the average house cost 200 to 300k at that time. They live in 1 and rent out the other 3.

We are talking 5 to 10 families buying 4 houses each.

It caused a massive ripple effect and then the foreign market saw a coastal city with a housing market that went from buyers market to sellers market getting hot and started scooping up everything.

My house value is up like $100000 from when I bought it a few years ago. And that's scary. Sounds like something I should be happy for, but I know everyone trying to buy a house now is screwed.
