Wow, is Matt "The Immortal" Brown really one win away from a title shot?

He's currently on a 6 fight win streak, and against Condit, his toughest challenge to date, if he can somehow pull off an upset, it would be hard to deny him as being the #1 contender.

GSP vs. The Immortal - What an unlikely title fight.

EDIT: Oops, didn't realize there was already a thread similar to this one. Delete.

I guess so! Makes sense....considering his streak and beating Condit.

I'm all for Brown in that fight

It's hard to imagine, but he has stepped up his game and did what was needed to put himself into this position.

I am actually pretty happy for him. I would love to see him beat Condit and get a title shot.

However, that is a pretty tough obstacle to overcome. I will probably go w/ Carlos Condit by 3rd Round Sub.

Maybe. You never know how the UFC gives out title shots these days. Though I doubt he gets past Carlos

If he beats Condit he'll be more deserving of a title shot than Diaz and Hardy were.

He would be deserving of a title shot but damn is the roadblock a brutal one. Usually you say a guy at least has a punchers chance but Condit doesn't get KO'ed.

Meh I think it's a lot like mark hunts run at HW. He just managed to string together some wins against some middle of the road competition but once he faces a top 10 opponent it's game over.

    I could be wrong though.

The best and only real way to beat carlos condit is to wrestle fuck him though and that's not going to happen.. so i just don't see how brown wins this. If he does he definitely deserves the gsp fight.

^ lol, maybe. always has the kind of face where he's trying so hard to look scary, then when the mic finally gets to him he starts rambling like Cleatus from the Simpsons

Matt might actually stand a chance against Condit (although it's slim)

Against GSP... Good luck stopping the takedowns

GSP asked for Diaz, a privilege he's well deserving of

Hardy was the only top 5 WW GSP had not defeated...but I'd love to hear you sell us on how Paulo Thiago or Mike Swick would have been more deserving. I guess you could have thought yet another BJ or Hughes fight would have been better

Name value is absolutely a factor in earning title opportunities. Hardy and Diaz both had that, and with Matt Brown being a FOX hero, he's deserving as well.

If Matt comes out aggressive and wants to pressure and kick and punch the way he usually does....well......thats Carlos Condit's game. :icon_evil

I dunno, Condit has had 36 fights spanning 11 years and never been KO'ed.
