I like to watch fights live and didn't feel like watching this event at work so I turned my phone notifications off. Wow this event sucked. There wasn't really any name value aside from the main event and that was a snooze fest. Kinda went how I expected given that RDA was able to grapple Magny but the one surprising thing was him trying to force grappling exchanges with Chiesa even though he was getting destroyed at every turn. He managed to get the body lock numerous times and at one point got Chiesa off the ground and slammed him and ended up on the bottom shortly after.

Also, I saw on reddit how some of them were hyping mini-Nurmagomedov. Someones said, "I can tell he's related to Khabib by the way he was grappling." The f'? His kicks looked powerful but his grappling was very flawed. That back take where he got shook off was some white belt shit. Saw the back and leaped on it without establishing any kinda of hooks.

Anyways...was this one of the most boring events in recent memory? I kinda thought it was.

The grappling sequence you described where Magny got the body lock, slammed him and ended up on bottom was very telling. That Magny still tried to clinch and grapple after that is very puzzling to me. I admire his confidence but don't agree with his strategy.

Yeah...that was odd to me but after that shit happened to him he still tried to grapple. The last round was the only time he tried to keep his distance and out of clinch range and by that time Chiesa was running in circles around the cage eating the clock.

I for one enjoyed Umar's debut, and the fight after that wasn't bad too. Then I had school so idk how most of the card went, but the main event was one-sided. I enjoyed the grappling display tho.

It was a pretty boring event. I kind of enjoyed watching it but that's solely because I watched it live and I will probably never watch any of the fights on it ever again. Also, Khabib fans are everything people on here say Mcgregor fans are.

If you thought Jones Vs Davis was boring maybe you don't like MMA very much.

I was going to watch this tomorrow but after reading this I've got better things to do. Thanks

That's the frustrating thing about magny, he's a good fighter, insanely tough (that lombard fight comes to mind) but if he can't wall and stall, grind dudes down as he likes to do, he's content fighting you wherever you want, even in your strong point which in this case was chiesas wrestling. I felt magny was getting a slight edge in the striking when neither was trying to grapple, after the second round he should have just tried to make it a striking affair because he got rag dolled on the mat and some of his attempts looked sad

Warley alves fight was a banger and so was Davis/Jones. Two fights dont make an event and when you have wmma involved which is 95% certain to be horrible then events can really suck if the males dont perform
