Since you are from Scotland, I’ll give you an example from there, and yes I am talking about surgeries and such not going to get a script for antibiotics for a cold.There are no waiting lists for doctor appointments, only for things like elective surgeries. Emergencies are treated immediately. So wtf are you talking about?
Good friend had something wrong with his knee, it’s been a long time so I don’t remember the specifics. We were working together in Aberdeen when this was going on(he lived there)
He went to go to the dr to get it checked out and went right in, he did end up needing a surgery but to even see the dr to get his knee looked at to begin with for the knee specialist it would have been months of wait without supplemental healthcare our company provided for the employees there.
He made an appointment and went the same week to get it looked at, instead of the months wait he would have had without it.
I’m not saying America’s healthcare system is perfect, it sucks in a lot of ways, but the narrative that free health care in a lot of other countries is without fault is also a hugely incorrect statement.
