Who lay on top of another fighter and do little else? Yes! Dominant wrestlers who do nothing but lay on top of somebody should be stood up after no more than 60 seconds dry-humping. A Pride era Yellow card with a purse deduction should be given for the second offense. Guida would be a good example. It sucks to watch a fight like this. While I'm on it, yellow cards for fighting "to not lose," like GSP did for so long.

It's usually the guy on bottom who stalls.

I watched a UFC reloaded a few days ago and one fight was pretty much all dry humping. I'll never get that time back that I wasted watching it.

I would yellow card the guy on bottom for getting humped and not doing anything.

    This.

Plus, bitching about LnP is so 2009. All the cool fans complain about "point fighting" with "baby leg kicks" and "running man shit" today.

Oh you poor, poor thing. The obvious solution was to get access to the internet and make a thread about it on Sherdog.

You do realize that in Pride more yellow cards were given out to the guy on bottom don't you?

I've done this. Not proud of myself for it, but I've done it. Full guard, double over hooks, look at the ref expectantly through one swollen eye

I would yellow-card whichever fighter is remaining inactive (which could very well be both).

Takes two to play the stall game.

The old days of lay and pray where a dominant wrestler would just lay out the fight are long long gone.

You even used horrible examples, Guida never stopped trying for something....not saying he ended up doing much in those attempts, but lay and pray? Not at all.

...and you're just a GSP hater for the last example...and a moron so stop making dumb threads.

    Yellow cards sucked.

Used to lose it when a bad ref gave out a yellow card in DREAM...very rarely did it make any difference and so many times it was wrong and ruined the momentum of a fight.

...unless you are saying our already scetchy refs should get an even more intrusive tool to use to shit on fights?

Man this is a dumb suggestion.

I would not yellow card a fighter who takes a guy down and keeps him down.

I would yellow card any fighter who:
    1. Executes a "surprise" TD in the midst of a standup fight and then doesn't follow up with anything on the ground. (why do the TD if you don't want to fight on the ground?)
    2. Executes a TD in the closing 30 seconds of a round (means he doesn't want to fight on the ground and his TD was useless)
    3. Pins his opponent's shoulder blades against the wall of the cage. (this is the U FIGHTING C, nobody cares if you can push a guy against the cage)

NO POINTS should be awarded for:
    1. taking a guy down only to have him escape a few seconds later (TD accomplished nothing)
    2. pushing a guy against the cage

If a TD into guard = points,
    THEN:
passing guard, getting mount, taking the back should equal MORE POINTS (as in 10-8)
Otherwise you're favoring WRESTLING in the judging criteria.
A TD and a little bit of control = 10-9.
A TD, passing guard, getting mount, and taking the back over the course of an entire round STILL ONLY = 10-9. That should be a 10-8.
That's why so many of you boneheads like to say that "wrestling dominates", BJJ doesn't work any more, blah, blah, blah.
It's because the rules and judging made it that way.

Yea, grapplers shouldn't be allowed to grind for position. Lets just kickbox. Douche.

Can we yellow card dumb posts and buy beer?

I think the UFC not wanting to implement the yellow card for lay n pray fighting is a huge reason why Ben Askren will never fight in the UFC.

Maybe we should yellow card guys who keep their hands up and circle away from opponent's power hand?

    Sorry, football makes me drink.

Ever notice how Sherdoggers lobby for both higher fighter pay, and to allow refs to fine fighters they don't find entertaining?
