where Captain America was openly gay?
just a Yes or No
If they still kill people then yes
Throw in making him black, and a woman, & you've got yourself a deal.
why the fuck wouldnt i
Will the shield be rainbow-colored?
I wouldn't watch those movies even if the characters were straight. I cannot stand Superhero movies.
If they keep the same amount of screen time dedicated to romance, then sure... But mainly because I don't care. I think it's a betrayal of what the character is. This guy just reeks of Conservative values.
yes or no sir.
Sure, why not?
No , because the character isn't gay and turning him gay would mean some fucking executive was kissing someone's ass.
what's wrong with conservative values in a patriotic hero from 1940's America?
my problem is that if marvel allows Disney to take artistic freedom with their properties..... being as pro gay as Disney is we don't know what we might get from them with the characters we originally grew to love by reading the comic books as kids on our bedroom floors.
the Black Panther Shouldn't be Mexican
Nick Fury Shouldn't be black
Tony Stark Shouldn't be a woman
The reason why guys like me that grew up reading comics marvel specifically get so pissed when they start fucking these characters back story's up is because I would've never been a fan of Cap if he was French kissing Bucky in the comics, I would not have liked Ironman if it was Iron woman.
am I alone in this?
I get it Tony...you're a MCU super fan..so am I so are most card carrying nerds. but why did you originally start obsseing over X-Men Marvel DC characters? because of what they represented. Masculinity, Truth, Justice, Strength, Courage. even ethnicities I'm sure there were/are black kids that liked Luke Cage, and Black Panther because they were well...black.
Some Italian guys may have been a little more into Punisher because he was Italian. Some Former Marines may Have read Punisher because he was a former Jarhead. Why now Make him a Navy SEAL? stuff like that irks the living shit out of me and greatly offends my nerd sensibilities.
Not suggesting there is anything even remotely wrong. Don't take "reeks" as negative here... I'd say "He reeks of awesome" in the same way. Captain America is a representative of an idealized, best version you'll get of Conservative values, and those aren't bad in themselves to begin with.
I was simply stating that I think it's a betrayal of what the character is - but I have never been a big Cap fan so, if they really want to make him gay, I won't lose any sleep over it. I say this understanding that it is a betrayal of the character though.
Also, I 100% agree with you. These characters should stay what they were, not go all progressive and ditch decades of characterization. When it comes to Cap though, I just don't care - not a fan.
No imo you've kind of nailed what in the hell is wrong with marvel this days. I get opening stories for different demographics but at the cost of some of they're most popular characters legacies is a joke
