Would you support Muay Thai fights in the UFC?

I always wondered why the UFC didn't mix in Muay Thai fights in their line up.

I think it could add an interesting element to their shows.

PRIDE and K1 had some fights that surpassed previous Viewing records. Kawajiri and Masato was the most viewed fight of the year.

How would you like to see Bendo vs. Buakaw or GSP vs. Kaoklai or Anderson vs. Nathan Corbett? UFC already basically has a monopoly so they have nothing to lose by having one or two shows with Muay Thai fights per year.

What do you think?

What would the UFC gain by having their champs destroyed in MT or K-1 rules bouts? All it would do is diminish the aura of UFC champs as the baddest men on the planet.

The UFC will never let their guys compete in Muay Thai matches with top ranked muay thai practitioners, they would get owned.

K-1 isn't Muay Thai and no I'd rather not see freakshow fights under any kind of rules.

EDIT: Muay Thai rules? No.

Alistair is already the champ of K1, lightweights like Bendo would do it. I think the fans would love it.

Thank god this will NEVER happen.

Not least of which it would confuse the shit out of the mainstream audience, never happening.

Also, why not make one wrestling match, one boxing match as well? Judo, now that Ronda is there.

No thanks. UFC is for MMA. You won't see the NBA scheduling the Heat vs. the Dolphins in flag football matches.

Maybe if they did some MT exhibitions at the fan expos like they do now with BJJ matches that could be cool, but don't take up event time with this stuff.

You would see Andy get hellbowed in oblivian if he fought Corbette in FULL muay Thai rules......Spong didn't even want any part of his elbows.

Elaborate please.

No reason to add non mma competition to UFC events. Can't build a strong brand with random fights that nobody wants to see thrown in (there is a reason K1 can't find a buyer, there is no market for it).

It would be like McDonalds saying they are going to add retail space in their stores for people to shop. It just isn't what the customers want.

I don't think the UFC wants to put Hari Vs Bones or JDS vs Ghita either.....if you catch my drift, all three of those champs would be utterly destroyed in MT....especially ANDY in FUll MT rules against Corbette.

Hell Ghita agains JDS? gimme a break. You will get to see former K1 champ Overreem vs JDS hopefully...that will be the closest thing to see how a Kickbocing World champ does against a "great standup for UFC" fighter, imo. Although, Allistair won't be able to use his K1 "peekaboo" type gloves over the face guard.

You are right. Maynard vs Guida was more exciting than Bendo vs Buakaw or Andy Souwer vs Penn would be, right?
