Would you like to see PRIDE rules and scoring reintroduced?

I would use PRIDE rules + elbows and 10 minute 1st round, as well as judge the fight as whole.

I hate it how fighters can't use soccer kicks, knees, stomps and upkicks to the head of a downed opponent. I find this very unfair.

It would be cool, if a mod could make a poll on this too.

I mean, this is illegal. WTF.

Another example: Cain was going after JDS's lower legs without the fear of his head being kicked out of the arena. That tactic would not work under PRIDE rules. I can see JDS kicking Cain's head after a missed TD attempt.

I think the universal answer to all long time MMA fans is YES!

Basically what One Championchip has now is the best rules

Absolutely, that would make for some short fights

To go a little against the grain. I have mixed feelings on soccer kicks. For the purists the less "rules" the better but I feel that if the American organisations had soccer kicks then we would be set back a number of years in our attempts to "legitimize" the sport.

Upkicks should absolutely be allowed. Would prevent stalling.

Stomps, IMO, are too dangerous to allow. I personally never want to see anything like what Wand did to Yuki Konda happen in a sanctioned ring again. The implications if that went wrong would be catastrophic. For me, too many people disregard fighter safety due to their own bloodlust.

Yes, but disallow stomps and soccer kicks to the head. It's still too rough. But knees to the head of a grounded opponents needs to implemented asap. Keep the elbows, and the 10 min first rounds as well as the judging criteria (not saying that Pride judging was perfect though).

Not bloodlust, but fairness.

Not this circle jerk again....And I think it'd be more likely that Cain would take JDS down, get in north south position and knee the shit out of his head, a la Coleman.

I wouldn't want to watch it either as JDS is already broken down enough from just Cain's hands. With what we're learning about concussions, we need to somehow learn how to prevent damage, not create more ways to hurt someone.

I support this but I am reserved on the stomps/soccer kicks part. Too brutal.

As for the knees to the head of a downed opponent...hell yeah. This is the best weapon against wrestlers and its unavailable in the UFC. That and the cage give a really unfair advantage to wrestling.

Also, I believe that even with PRIDE rules Cain would have won :)

Take elbows away too then.

Wrestlers have unfair advantages.

That's the whole point.

The reffs can save fighters from uneccessery punishment.

Yea but on the other hand Cain would of stomped JDS HEAD IN if kicks and stomps were allowed.

This is a fighting sport. Brain damage is basically a given.

Cain missed many TDs on JDS and would get his head kicked off under PRIDE rules easily.

Cain would need to adopt. I think he would have, but JDS could have kicked Cain's head off. I remember seeing Cain fearlessly going after JDS's lower legs. A disgusting rule.

The answer is yes as always. We should be calling for ONE Championship rules, they are even better than Pride rules.

Wrestlers have a more unfair advantage with knees to the grounded opponents. Not everyone is a sprawl machine. Try and imagine GSP allowed to use knees to head on opponents he can take down.

A lot would change no doubt. Especially if they remove the cage... it wont happen tho :(
