Would you like to see MMA in the Olympics despite obvious issues?

Id like to see it in the olympics, but the actual application of it,i think would be unsatisfying.

Cruz could win the HW medal if Olympic boxing is any indication.

In theory i will like it because it will help spread MMA in countries where it's not popular

On reality they will ruin it

What is the europian slapping style in boxing? :D

Olympic judges scoring weak jabs the same as power punches that knock fighters down or stagger them. Boxers being rewarded for incredibly boring point fighting that involves running away and landing light taps on their opponent.

Judging in Olympic boxing is comically corrupt. It's always been corrupt, but it's gotten much worse in the past 12 years or so. Not a coincidence that boxing has also declined rapidly at the same time.

Nah. It would just get in the way. Imagine how many fighters would need time away to qualify, the injuries, the rules...

We get MMA all year round. All MMA orgs are already pretty much international competitions, and the US and Brazil would dominate.

Professional basketball players participate in the Olympics why would MMA not be considered

because MMA is closer to boxin than basketball? In the beginning the Olympics were as a whole meant for amateurs even if nowadays some pros compete.
The UFC and Bellator but the UFC especially wouldn't allow their guys to fight there either as they would make no money from it they would have to be dumb to let their guys compete in the Olympics.
