How would you feel if another organization grew to be as lucrative as the UFC? Pros and Cons? Discuss.

Oh fuck yeah I would. Competition is good, a virtual monopoly rarely is.

I'd love it. Competition works out well for the consumer and the workers.

Absolutely...

competition brings out the best in rivaling companies/organizations.

When one entity has a complete monopoly on a product, it diminishes its product...because frankly, they don't have to step up their game anymore.

If it was awesome like Pride, yeah.

Now that the UFC is in the hands of WME, I'm almost praying for it.

I like One Championship, it can be fun. Hope to see some Thai's dominate over there within the coming years and use it as a springboard to fight all over the world.

But, you don't want too much competition, cuz... well, then you'd have Boxing.

I'd love if there was an organization that ran MMA like an actual sport where the rankings mattered and the judging wasn't bullshit.

It would result in the best not fighting the best because of being in opposing organizations. We would be stuck with multiple champions and a lot of debate on who is really the best. I don't believe competing organizations on equal standing is the way to go if you're really interested in finding out who is the best. As far as the fighter's though, it would be great to have a bidding war going on for fighters.

UFC was rival to Pride, not the other way around......

No the Pride vs UFC fights on here were just awful and being fought by insufferable pricks, mostly on the Pride side.

Pride not at all, it wasn't run like a legit sport, it was a japanese kakutogi show for a japanese audience.
Pride is still around by the way, and it's name is Rizin, it has its place and it's fun, but it has all the flaws and limitations that Pride had.

A new Strikeforce yes.

If Benson and Rory are just the start of the wave of top level free agents, then maybe by 2022, Bellator will be right there next to the UFC

I think a Coke vs Pepsi style rivalry would be great for the sport, especially the fighters and viewers.

I think until recently, the sport simply wasn't big enough yet to feed top talent to multiple organizations. The number of talented, top level athletes that have been training all aspects of mma since childhood is only going to increase.

As far as UFC matchmaking, we're currently in the dark days. But, that just means there's room for improvement and I believe in time, this sport will be better than ever.

Nib high football rules!

Hell no, all these guys saying they want other orgs probably love nba/nfl

Not with a name like Bellator and an announcer that sounds like he's struggling not to breath/sound like a G.I. Joe commercial they won't.

If Bellator can pinch a few more underpaid stars, clean up their brand and put their promotional efforts behind making stars out of their champs instead of main eventing freaks how fights between washed up cheque collectors, they could make a decent challenge

UFC has been around 20+ years and is worth billions, for another organization to call itself competition I reckon we are looking at 10 years away
