Would you give Conor any shot at 170 lbs?

Conor keeps saying that he could fight in 3 divisions but... Could he really do anything at 170 lbs? I mean, could he beat a worthy opponent in this division? I dont think so, but we seen stranger things... At 155 i believe he could be, with some difficult, top ten, and i believe in his talent.

Could you imagine him with any Welterweight? Easily the most competitive division in the UFC? His power wouldn't hurt anyone up there. I could already imagine him trying that slick kicking game on Lawler and just turn into a frightened puppy when he feels just a hint of his power. The fact he can't rely on his wrestling when he's outdone in the striking department is bad news. He might break top 5 at LW before being exposed though

If he brings a baseball bat with him, yeah.

In what's arguably the most wrestle talent rich division? Hell no lol.

Conor vs Rory would be interesting.

Conor vs Lawler would be interesting. Until Robbie hits him.

Maybe they'll go crazy and go for GSP vs McGregor for UFC 200. That's how you make the biggest UFC of all time.

He could definitely make 170 pounds. No problem with that cut.

No.

Lawler?
Hendricks?
Woodley?
Condit?
Lombard? (AHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Brown?
Wonderboy?
Nick Diaz?
Shields?
Gunni?

He wouldn't beat a single guy near the top of WW, every guy there has a clear path to victory either due to size and striking (Condit, Lawler, Wonderboy etc) or due to strong wrestling.

I like Conor a lot, he's a very good FW. I don't think Mendes or Aldo or Edgar would do anything special at 170 either. So this isn't a knock on him.

That three divisions better include 145 if that's his plan.
I do wish he and the just bleed herald Lawler were in the same division.

Probably not.

Imagine Nick Diaz vs Conor though

He's a good fighter at 145 where he has a size and range advantage. These would go away at 155, though he still has a chance. At 170 he would be absolutely manhandled. A puncher's chance would be what he would have to bank upon, those are not good odds. These threads are getting a little ridiculous.

NooOoOoOooOo

Good god people...

I'm waiting on the "could conor beat above sea level Cain" thread any minute now

Wouldn't go well at all.

Not everyone can do what Edgar did. Almost no one, actually.

At lightweight Conor would still have a reach advantage over all but three top fifteen fighters.
