Would you consider squat alternatives enough?

I no longer have access to my gym so I have no rack. I have been doing hang cleans and zercher squats but it irks me not being able to do my back squat. Would you fellas consider it enough or should I work on finding myself a rack/saw horses/barrels of water.

Front squat, deadlift, zerchers, real hack squats... Saw horses aint that expensive either.

Thanks guys. I was just afraid that without the staple backsquat i'd be lagging. The saw horse is a bit of an issue because I can't find any adjustable ones in my hardware store. I am 6'5 so squatting underneath a regular pair is impossible. I'll work on my hack squats/front squats/zerchers for now.

You could build a squat rack.

    Squat Stands are pretty cheap.

You can do some pretty intense unilateral movements. BSS's kick my ass every time I do them.

This is what craigslist/garage sales are for. If you dont have a gym, find a cheap pos stand and use that bad boy.

I'd say the alternatives are good for building strength, but if you want a big squat you know what you gotta do.

I never had a squat rack when I started, and used Z and Hack squats for about 8 months.
Got 405lbs on back squats first time I tried them, so I think you'll be okay.

I agree. I went without squatting for several months and my squat lacked a lot. I did continue to get much stronger, though. Squatting more has helped my squat to go up, now, though. I didn't do any squat variants in that time either, though. I bet you'd get pretty strong if you front squatted and deadlifted instead.

I always thought - if I was gonna train at home without a rack - that hip belt squats would be my choice.
