Seems like a good deal. 89k wouldn't get a cardboard box to sleep in round these parts.
 
Some decent parts of Gary but not many. Got your ghetto war zone area, then you got your white trash n Hispanic area . The exception is Miller Beach which is actually nice...
 
Depends on what the ROI is on it and development opportunities in the area.

It isn’t something I would normally pick up as an investment property as a lot of century homes have had additions put on that makes the home completely unlevel and you would have to gut the home to fix.
 
can i just buy it, knock it down and then build something i do like?
 
That looks 10x better condition than a house that size going for that price where I live so yes.
Hell the lot alone would probably be more here.
 
89k would be a decent price for an empty 0.7-1.0 acre plot where we're at.
