Your 2014 "UFC shoving WMMA down our throats" update:
Men's fights held/announced - 223
Women's fights held/announced - 9

Because not enough people see that.

current talent level -- no

at some theoretical point in the future -- yes

to put it another way, I wouldn't buy the equivalent of UFC 1 as a PPV in 2015.

what a joke... The answer is hell no
I wouldn't pay for womens football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, rugby. ping pong, porn...well ok Ill pay for porn

Well, basically, UFC 193 fills this criteria as it's main evented/co-main evented by women's title bouts. It probably would not have made much difference if they filled the rest of the card with women's fights (perhaps the feminist publicity might've improved the buyrate due to non-MMA fans).

But yes, I would. Honestly, I like the women's divisions because there are only two of them, and it's easier to track what's going on than the men's lighter weight classes.

I have bought an Invicta before; i wouldnt pay UFC ppv prices though unless it had Ronda vs Cyborg.

Women's soccer is worth watching. Like slo-mo soccer but with much sexier legs.

Yes already have with invicta. Not womens 135 because its weaker but an all 115er card maybe with Rousey headlining.

Main: Ronda vs Cyborg
Co-main: Tate vs Carano
superfight: Gabi Garcia vs Jorina Baars: Round 1 kickboxing, round 2 MMA

In Japan. You know you would watch it

Not a chance.

There are literally only 3 female fighters that I'm interested in watching, and only 1 of them fights in the UFC.

Edit: I assume we're talking UFC here. I've purchased an Invicta card before since it was like 10$.

I did that before Invicta FC got picked up by UFC Fight Pass. And I NEVER regretted it. They were always great cards. Now, I subscribe to Fight Pass solely because of Invicta FC.

I wouldn't ever buy a all women card. Heck I don't even like women being on the fight card at all. I shouldn't have to pay to watch them fight.

Nobody really wants to see that crap.

Its like the NBA forcing you to watch the WNBA in the middle of the real NBA games.

Must be a slow news day. The UFC hasn't put on enough women's fights in the entire first half of 2014 to even fill up one card.

The buyrate for Ronda/Betche was something like 900,000.

No. The best WMMA main event possible right now would be a catchweight fight between Ronda and Cyborg but even then, the fact that ALL of the fights would be WMMA fights would keep me from even considering a purchase.

Then again, I don't buy PPVs at all. I'd be much less likely to buy an all-female PPV than a regular one however, even Rousey VS Cyborg.(I'd tune in to the main event in that case though)

nope. but i wouldn't pay for any single division ppv, ok fine, i wouldn't pay for any ppv.

except tournaments, i'd pay to watch tournaments, ok fine, not if it's upwards of 40 bucks.

Absolutely not.

Unless Colby NORTHCUTT fought and "Super Sayan," Sage, "Rage," NORTHCUTT walked her to the ring.

Otside of that scenario, never.

i wouldn't but its mainly because i don't buy ppvs anyway, (i go to BWW), but for an all woman card i definitely wouldn't bother going to watch it simply because while some are quite entertaining, the majority of the fights are quite sloppy and id prefer to see the best talents the ufc has to offer on a ppv.

In the UFC? There's one weight class right now genius.

Would you buy an all men's Featherweight card?

Maybe? What if it was like below (maybe minus the Carano fight)

Main: Rousey vs Cyborg (Title Fight)
Co Main: Tate vs Zigano 2
#4: Veronica Rothenhausler vs Gina Carano
#3: Carmouche vs Bazler
#2: Pennington vs Eye
#1: Bethe Correia or Holly Holm vs Pena

(Men Prelims)

Never. I don't even watch women's sports outside of the Olympics and the USWNT (soccer). There's no chance I would pay to watch either, let alone WMMA cards.

Throw Kaufman in and it's an easy buy.

The internet/hardcore MMA community is essentially irrelevant. They are small in number (looks to be about 60k people, if that), most of which don't buy PPVs and stream everything, and don't really effect the opinion of the actual buyers either (i.e. the casuals). Hardcores can be sort of useful in hyping a new talent but beyond that aren't really worth anything.

No. I would watch ronda vs. Cyborg for free.

Ditto. Main event would be a must-watch but if literally ALL of the fights were WMMA fights I'd ignore the rest of the card.

I'm a pretty casual fan but that's probably all true. I'm not sure about the number of "hardcore" fans but otherwise I think you're dead on. It's all about getting the casuals to impulse buy an event. Anyone who even kind of follows MMA knew Rousey/Correia was a fucking joke of a matchup. It was like putting Werdum up against Kimbo Slice except Slice would've at least had a puncher's chance.

Of course I would. There are a lot of skilled, interesting MMA fighters who happen to be female. Writing off all of women's MMA as a whole means you care more about disliking women than you care about actually watching good fights.
