I am not sure which weight class Cerrone's next fight will be but if he chooses to stay at 170 I think that could be a good fight for him. He would likely be at a tremendous weight disadvantage on fight night given Alves could fight at 185 but I think it would be a good stylistic match-up given both of their styles. What do you think?

Sure, because I'm an MMA fan.

I dunno that Alves cuts that much weight anymore. He was considering a move to 155. So he must be lighter now. Benson Henderson was set to fight him in Seoul before his rib injury.

Cowboy would have height and reach on him. I don't think he'd be able to take him down. I could see it going either way on the feet.

It would definitely be a good fight for people to get a proper feel of where Cerrone is in the WW division and I have no doubt it would be an exciting fight to watch.

This fight could be at 170 or 155, but either way I think Cowboy would tear him up. Cerrone is a slow starter, but if he guards himself he would probably stop Alves. As long as he doesn't pull a Mein (rip Thiago apart and then get caught to the body), Cerrone would be fine. Hell, he trains with Condit so those two could discuss some strategy there.

Sure. But thiago Alves by bodykick tko

Every time I can see a healthy Thiago Alves I'm happy. Would be a fun match-up! why not

Now thats an awesome fight right there. I like your thinking

Would be a good fight. This or Cerrone-Larkin.

I'd favor Alves in that fight. I think if Cerrone wants to compete at 170 again let him go against Tarec or Hyun Gyu Lim.

I think Tarec is actually ranked higher than Alves.

Yes.

Both guys are exciting as Hel to watch.

However, it would be good to see Cowboy matched up with someone of a higher ranking.

It's going to be fun to see how Cowboy does against Condit, Robbie, and co.

That's a fun fight, but I'd rather see him fight someone who's on their way up the rankings.

It can't be by much. Tarec beat a scared Ellenberger and Thiago while coming off a loss, had a two win streak going for him.
Depends on what rankings you go by, but UFC rankings are #10 Tarec and #13 Alves. I wouldn't mind him facing either to be honest.
