I hope your father becomes a janitor
he done gone
he was a school principal
but he knew the janitors I'm sure
I did some janiting myself one semester in college.
I'd be ashamed if my son became a janitor but sucked dudes off for money in his spare time.
Janitorial work is highly misunderstood as some shit wage dead end job. If you put the work in, you can climb some ladders and get paid. My buddy's dad started out as a janitor, climbed the ranks of the company, and became some custodial manager making six figures. No post secondary education to speak of. Just put the work in. Not the case for everyone of course, but I think there's a lot more room for growth in that field, than say, fast food burger flipper, or Walmart cashier.
Like, at a school full-time?
I know a woman who lives like she’s rich off that job.
In NY the cleaners unions have them making close to what some of the office staff makes.
no because its honest work, but id always help him get better in life
I hate it when people look down on so-called menial jobs. We don't all have the same abilities so unless I thought he was just being lazy I would have no problem with it.
Easy $40K more in OT.
Nah, I'd make him watch UHF to cheer him up though.
I also new a guy in college who's dad owned a janitorial company. All the accounts he had were state buildings. Dude had a Mercedes and a big ass house. Like Phillip Banks level house.
A janitor? No. A custodian? Yes!
Nothing wrong with being a janitor.
I myself actually wouldn't mind being one.
Seems like honest work, less stressful and alot safer than other jobs I've had.
Probably pretty stable work if a man could get work at a hospital or school. That would be pretty sweet.
Yes, if he has the same intelligence that I do.
and asking fools how they like them apples!
I'm in the same category in society's eyes. I kill bugs for a living. An exterminator. Mostly bedbugs and cockroaches. My brother and I are owner operators. When covid hit we saw local business and personal bankruptcy soar. We were fine. We got 500k in cash reserves. A second business we started 2 years ago and now have half a dozen properties. Index fund portfolio and now getting into precious metal bullions. Net worth millionaires that all started from killing bugs. People feel bad for me. I feel bad for people that clock in the 9 to 5. There's no fuckin way I would be able to generate the wealth I'm building by clocking in.
Would I mind? No. I hang off of some of the biggest buildings in Chicago, it pays the bills, keeps my family insured, and has a nice pension intact. If my kid ends up doing any kind of blue collar work to take care of his responsibilities, and its less dangerous than my job, then I'm cool with it.
Honest pay, honest work?
Is he happy?
Then yes, I'll be cool with it
Why is the question about a hypothetical son and not a daughter...
Misogyny, that's why
