Would some form of goggles remedy the eyepoke issues?

Sounds dumb maybe, but what if some kind of eyewear could be designed to effectively protect the eye in an MMA match from being poked? Would this be a fair solution to eye poke issues?

Solution

eyewear wouldn't stay on in grappling, also would get punched into their skull

this is right up there with the guy who said that they should make the octagon walls glass to prevent fence grabbing

Yes virtual reality goggles. The fights can be virtual fights now so nobody gets hurt.

TS, don't you have something better to do right now? Like working on your kegels or something?

That'll work out real well when punches to the upper face start opening up cranial vaginas

Gear is not the solution; aggressive refereeing and sanctions are.

Have you been to a live event? Hard as hell to see through the mesh cage, plexiglass might be not the worst idea...

right. it'll be clear as day when it's smeared with a bunch of blood and sweat. not a problem at all when someone gets their skull smashed against it either. great solution.

Valid points, but the mesh sucks for a variety of reasons as well.
