Melvin did too.
He would be a very different fighter if he had top notch wrestling. His gas tank might change...who the hell knows. I don't think he could be as good as he is at striking and BJJ is he was also a D1 wrestler. You only have so much time in a day.
he already is.
he owns the P4P belt and the McGregor belt.
Your ability to detect sarcasm is on par with your grammar.
If it were that easy, maybe
He doesn't have any power. His boxing lands in volume but he can't hurt anyone. He hit Cerrone about 263758292 times. Rory tore him up.
He had really good JJ.
It's not like he had an amazing record. His popularity exceeds his skill
His BJJ isn't even that good. It's lazy and sloppy.
If beating a guy on the ground that is two divisions lower than you makes you the best BJJ guy then what does that make Maia?
Posts like this are so embaressingly cringe worthy stupid
Conor hating newbs/Nate's pothead loser fantards, lack any ability to think criticially
If you out class someone in 3 of 5 rounds but barely lose 2 rounds...does that still mean it was close because on scorecards it read 3-2...
If you actually watch the fight, and know what youre watching, you see that one fighter was clearly out classed the majority of the fight, and just barrly managed to win his rounds
Fights arent scored in totality, ITS ROUND BY ROUND...and a fighter CAN win his rounds far BIGGER then an opponent won theirs
That was essentially Conor vs Nate
Conor absolutely dominated his rounds (1,2,4)
Where as Nate barely won his 3rd round
(watch that round again without Rogan's insanely biased commentary where he would orgasm over anything Nate did and ignore anything Conor did)
Conor was actually controlling the first 3 to 4 minutes of round 3, out boxing Nate and landing the far cleaner better shots with superior countering..
Nate then ends the round with a desperation flurry in which Conor was still deflecting, rolling, and dodging the vast majority of Nate's arm punches, while stepping off and countering - or while sneaking in wicked body shot interruptions which eventually gassed Nate out
If Nate's round 3 was so "damaging" or "effective" then why was Conor able to TOOL Nate in round 4?
It showed how Nate's round 3 was all smoke and mirrors..and not truly anything effective
The much smaller Conor was playing rope a dope to conserve energy while countering...and yet the UNeducated Rogan was busting a nut to Nate's INeffective flurries while shitting on Conor.
And then when you look at round 5
Nate did nothing but try to squeek out a last second TD. Conor WON that round 5. Scored a TD of his own and laned the FAR BETTER SHOTS
It was a 25 minute fight and Conor literally DOMINATED about 22 minutes of it
Regardless of what score cards said, Conor OUT CLASSED Nate badly
^thats what an out classing looks like
A 195lb Nate was drpped 3 times by a 168lb FW Conor...LMAO
Nate cant beat anyone his size. Conor beats much bigger opponents
Look at Nate's badly disfigured face...while Conor's face was as clean and smooth as a baby's bottom
If 3 knockdowns and a badly beaten up face isnt an out classing, then tell me what is
then NO ONE else has ever been out classed in MMA history
Conor TOOLED the fuck out of Nate
It wasnt close at all...
Cruz vs TJ wasnt that close at all either. Cruz clearly beat TJ
Most "mma fans" just dont know what they are watching
Oh Jesus. No he obviously wouldn't be.
Nate is a bjj blackbelt, but he isn't on the Maia/Jacare level. He wouldn't be able to just devour every opponent in the division if he was a better wrestler.
And other D1 wrestlers (who would have stellar TDD themselves) would still be able to exploit Nate's total lack of a kicking game and beat him that way anyway. Just like Thomson and RDA and Benson did, they could just keep slashing that front leg with kicks even if Nate was himself a D1 wrestler.
No, he is not only wrestling ability away from being a p4p elite fighter like Aldo or Jones or Cruz. There is more to this game than that.
Brock does have the chin of mark hunt
Just not the pain tolerance
Also, imgaine if Nate didnt have his zombie chin
His chin is the the only thing that allowed him to hang with Conor (that and his size )
Nate without his chin gets blown away by Conor 11/10 with complete ease
Skill for skill Conor IS FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR SUPERIOR
At 155 Conor MURDERS Nate
You will have a healthy, strong, super fast, best cardio Conor at 155
while Nate at 155 now has to cut weight - therefore he will be dehydrated, meaning he wont have the fluid in his brain to cushion against Conor's clean sniper counters any longer
Oh, sorry. I really should have just posted the gif of him DESTROYING Conor with a basic 1-2
Nate probably could have beaten a few more guys he lost to if he initiated some grappling
Doesn't matter if his opponent is an undefeated pro boxer with 0 ground game, Nate is gonna stand and box until the other guy initiates grappling most times.
Not the smartest fight strategy but Nate ain't no bitch
