Is there a worse matchup from 145-170 for Mystic Mac than Demain Maia? If Maia was champ and Conor wanted to win a belt at 170 and they gave him an instant shot would he take it? Conor could catch him like Nate Marquart did but....... I think there is an 80 percent chance he gets strangled and mangled
Well Maia is a huge 170er compared to Conor being a small 170er, combined with it being a terrible stylistic matchup.
I think, as a fan of Conor, that it's pretty great that you have to resort to him fighting two divisions above his initial weight in order to find someone who might defeat him.
He did say he wanted to be a 3 division champion, he said he's not much smaller than his WW teammates
Maia would beat him due to being a lot larger but more importantly, having grappling that is light years ahead. It's in another realm to Conor's and he's used to fighting guys a lot bigger. Conor wouldn't fight him imo but for none of those reasons. Maia simply is a terrible draw. He would earn virtually foook all fighting him.
No because Mia would make a fool of him because he has a granite chin and once he gets one hand on you even if your are an all American wrestler or a Bjj black belt your fucked. Coner would be easy work on the floor for him. Easy ass work
Probably not, which is totally cool since Conor has fought at FW and LW almost his whole career, Diaz fights were an anomaly. Maia would fold Conor into a pretzel. He has all the advantages.
