Thoughts? I think this fight would be mint. Winner fights Lawler/Woodley in November/December

if condit is fighting anyone other than lawler it would be the rory/wonderboy winner i think. i don't think a win over nick diaz would get him a title shot. diaz hasn't won a fight in 5 years;that doesn't say #1 contender match to me

honestly though i think condit is done. his eye is too jacked up and he's already been talking about retirement

Nick shouldn't be anywhere near a number one contender fight.

If it was made, I doubt there's any interest in seeing Nick's inability to cut angles.

Diaz doesn't deserve a number one contender fight. And their first fight wasn't that entertaining. But Condit probably would accept it.

I know he would. He's been saying he'd like a rematch for years. I think he's haunted by that fight, that he regrets that gameplan, and that he would jump at the opportunity to clean it up. That fight actually makes the most sense for Diaz fans too, because it Nick's clearest path to a legitimate title shot if he can win.

Why would Diaz be in a #1 contenders fight?

Yeah, you're right. No one would be interested in that fight.

Monetary compensation alone would probably guarantee he'd sign to fight Diaz.

That's a step down for Condit,but I wouldn't mind him beating Diaz again ;)
I want him to rematch Woodley though.

It's a step down, but Condit had 3 title shots in his last 7 fights. He should be a fight or two away from another one and this is the biggest fight for him. Bigger than a title shot, money-wise. And Condit is down...

"Honestly, I don't think anything short of a rematch with [Diaz] would change things in anybody's mind," Condit said Monday on The MMA Hour. "I'm not worried about it. I went out there and I got the win. And ... I've said it in interviews in the past, I've agreed to that rematch a couple times. I don't know if he's ever coming back."

He sells fights.
We're talking about him and he's currently suspended.
I am a big Diaz fan and I've missed his shit over the last few months.

I wouldn't mind seeing the two fight again, but a number one contender fight? Diaz hasn't won a fight since 2011. I love Diaz, but it amazes me that many of the same posters bitching about Conor McGregor not defending his title and not deserving a shot at the lightweight belt are seemingly okay with Nick fighting Lawler for the welterweight title or having a number one contender fight.

The real question is would Diaz accept a fight with Condit or anyone else for that matter?

Oct 2011....

Yep, that was when Nick last won a fight.

Massive fan but he needs at least a couple quality wins to get a title shot.

It's amazing how fans just throw nick Diaz in undeserved oppurtunities. Don't get me wrong I enjoy his fights but why is he even being talked about as a candidate for a #1 contender bout

Probably if the money is right. And he'd probably even fight in a way favoring Diaz and lose just to silence all the sniveling Diaz fans who otherwise would bitch and moan incessantly for two years on Sherdog.

yup this is the fight I want for Diaz return, it makes sense

Like you don't know why.
