Would Cain's stratergy against JDS work on every MMA fighter on the planet?

So I guess guys are just born as good as they'll ever be and never get any better, why do they bother training then if people cant improve their skills?

Yep I agree. The JDS jokesters are something else. Becasue by that logic JDS will never have a good BJJ ground game at all, will never have any good kicks or MT either.

And Cain wouldn't even want to try that strategy against Werdum or Big Nog.

Cain would destroy Big Nog, just like he did the first time they fought. Big Nog is no longer elite...get over it. I doubt Cain would bother taking him down, but if he did, he'd do some careful, Fedor-style GnP.

Of course not. It would be a sh`tty strategy if:

1) The other guy has good top control and feared GnP. All that low singles could and should have been better exploited if JDS wasn't in "run and get up" mode. Let's say he misses one of his low singles in someone like JBJ. Having to take his GnP would not be very healthy.

2) Guys with better TDD, like Cormier.

3) Guys with world class subs from his back (like Werdum)

4) Guys who circle instead of walking backwards and can punch back and counterpunch while walking backwards (guys like Igor, Fedor, Anderson etc)

I think so. It's an unbeatable strategy, like Sonnen's but with stand up and GNP that hurts.

Most of the time it will work but once in a while, a good standup fighter will catch him.

At HW, it just takes a slight timing mistake, and the fight is gone.

Cain made that mistake the first time.

JDS made the mistake the 2nd time.

Against someone like The Reem, Cain would have to be careful to time things exactly correctly.

I can't see Cain having a problem with Werdum. Just keep the fight standing and punish him. Werdum can't outstrike Cain, and Werdum will gas long before Cain does. This probably ends in a TKO with Cain's hand raised about 95% of the time.

It will work against most heavyweights out there, but then again heavyweight isn't exactly a strong division.

but but... Werdum says he has a black belt in Muay Thai. A BLACK BELT FOR CHRISSAKE!

No.

You could potentially beat all opponents but a submission specialist like Werdum might be able to counter a ground and pound onslaught like that. A striker who likes to fight on the inside like Overeem would not mind if his opponent tried to pressure him because he wants to use the clinch and he's going to be hard to back up against the cage.

Dos Santos was never ever to use his Boxing effectively and the pressure from Cain tired him out as he was constantly trying to resist being pushed against the cage and stuffing takedowns while also trying to avoid getting hit to the head and body. It was a tough style matchup for him. Other fighters might be able to adapt.

Well Mr. MMA expert I figured your 16k posts you'd be able to tell the difference between rocked and gassed.

What does him getting rocked have anything to do with it?

He was gassed well before the punch landed. Dude looked like he was moving in slow motion after Cain's TD attempts.

I think so. Before the JSD fight was a consensus about JDS boxing, strenght, speed and TD as superior. He can't defend himself against Cain devastating attacks, nobody can not do this.
Cain's power is incredible. Bigfoot is a big dude with muay thai and BJJ background and he was a child against Velasqez as well.
