Probably had been training his wrestling In preparation for a potential showdown with either Edgar or Chad since very early on In his career, especially after being outgrappled / wrestled by Conor early on.

I haven't personally seen much of his wrestling as he's predominantly fought strikers but you'd have to imagine that he has been preparing to defend against high level wrestling for quite some time.

Obviously Khabib Is a different animal and It's fair to give him a big edge

I wouldn't count Max out though, especially If this goes 5 rounds. Khabib Isn't a finisher. Max has a huge heart, doesn't quit and gets stronger as the fight goes on.

This is the biggest fight of his career. The opportunity to become a 2 division champion, just as Conor did. Max obviously has a huge ceiling, far greater than he's even demonstrated thus far. Those sort of massive / pivotal / career defining fights have a tendency to make fighters reach deep into their soul and pull out some amazing performances.

should be Interesting, picking Khabib but I wouldn't entirely sleep on Max.

Yeah it should help and hopefully his injury isn't to bad.

OMFG, stop with these pointless threads. When Khabib takes him down, and beats the ever living shit outta Max, you're gonna look like a dumbass. Max on 6 days notice, with a fucked ankle will not stop Khabib's takedowns, so shut the fuck up.

Levels of analysis bruh.

you're at the bottom.

Sure he isn't, he only has like 16 finishes, that's virtually nothing. :p
Throughout his career, yes.

In his last 6 fights though, he's the guy you fear will get on top of you, maul you, dominate you and there isn't a thing you can do about It. Rather than him being this terrifying threat to finish the fight.

I'd rather tap to a 1st round armbar than receive a 3 round pounding. :p
