maybe not the worst, but surely recent is how irish edmund told johny walker to keep feinting and he wins while fight was close and the last round was a decider. ofcourse he lost. nothing from that coaching staff said in between rounds were useful in any way...

Can't think the worst, but an honorable mention to Barao vs TJ 2.

Before their last round, Ludwig was giving very technical advice while Barao's corner was pleading to him "C'mon champ! Win... just win!".

Krause telling Tim Elliott he was up two rounds against Nicolau has to be some of the worst cornering advice I've seen in a long time. It resulted in Elliott happily playing guard for the last two minutes of round 3, instead of immediately getting back to his feet in a round he needed to win.
i think this is a bit unfair and also i think this is a bit of a hater thread.
to generalize all coaches telling their fighters this as a negative. sure, im all for it.
but dont hate on my guy THE especially since he stuck his neck out for tim and took the blame. took 100% of the heat off his fighter. goat move imo

at the end of the day. elliots foot is on the gas. he is responsible for not quitting while he thinks he is ahead

Probably John Kavanaugh telling Johnny Walker "I want to see feints all day! Keep the movement going!"

Or John Kavanagh telling Conor "You're doing great, keep doing what you're doing and the Left hand will be there" in the Khabib fight.

Spoiler Alert: The left hand was not there at any point in the fight.

"Feint all day" he said as he sent him out. My jaw literally dropped when I heard him say that. SBG seems like a terrible fit for Walker. It looks like they basically took away his offense and gave him feints. Towards the end of rounds he started to get loose with his weird snaking side to side movements but never pulled the trigger. Just bizarre. I'm hoping that this is a step along the way to an improved Walker, but have no faith in SBG to execute.

He needs to move camps again but it seems unlikely given that he's rumored to be involved with a girl he met in Ireland. BTW, does anyone know how he can afford to constantly travel the world to new camps while sporadically fighting on a low-ish $$$ contract?

when he started doing stripper man hip thrusts, you could hear jk going nuts like it was the best thing since white belt in movement conor

Ronda's coach telling her she's doing beautifully in the fight against Holm
Playing devil's advocate here, he may have just been trying to keep her in a positive mindset, it's probably not much use telling her "awful, you're getting battered out there".

What's actually important is what advice came after, he may have given her instructions on how she can get to the clinch more consistently and how they can get the fight to the ground, but we never heard what he said because it cut away.

If people actually watch the fight, Ronda attempted several takedowns but Holm defended, and there were even more attempts to clinch that were stuffed, and there was even an armbar attempt, so she clearly wasn't told to go out there and box. She was just outclassed.

At least he owned up to it. Still, Tim himself shares in the blame. They both should have known better.

Listen to the commentary at the start of the fight. All they talk about is how much Tim relies on his corner (Mazany etc.), because he doesn't like to gameplan and think about things. He wants to be told what to do.

Forrest was CLEARLY beating Rich Franklin and going into the 3rd round Rich's cornermen were talking to him like he was in control of the fight and actually winning. That still irks me when I think about it.
