After the stupid Diaz hearing was delayed, was thinking of the ideal matchup for Rory.
Zahabi being a former world kickboxing champion, and Thompson being a diverse martial artist as well, this could be the second best welterweight fight of the year.
Wonderboy has proven himself worthy of the best, and also is unlikely to do extended damage to Rory over the course of a long fight. If Rory is hurt in this fight it will be quick and merciful unlike the last bout.

I like the match up, but it worries me that Rory may completely dominate him. I like Thompson a lot but this could be too much of a step up for him.

If Macdonald isn't ruined, he will drag Wonderboy to the mat and cave his skull in.

Big Wonderboy fan here, but this may be too soon. I'd rather see him against someone a little closer to that 10 mark, someone like DHK, Story, or a Brown rematch. Hopefully he would win any of those, then I would say you move him up to a top 5 guy.

As much as I enjoy watching Wonderboy fight, Rory would take him apart fairly easily.

Macdonald's wrestling and grappling would be too much for Thompson. I'd like to see the stand up part, though. These guys are both great strikers.

It would probably in the same fashion of Safadein's destruction.

Rory will take him down easily which would also negate most of his kicks. It'd be a very lop sided fight with Rory controlling the pace.

I love Wonderboy on this one. He's an underdog but I can see him lighting rory up on the feet. Wonderboy's striking is way more polished than Robbie...Rory's main concern vs Tarec was the leg kicks...Wonderboy's punches are underrated but they sting a lot.

Wonderboy finished Jake in the first in a more dominant fashion than anyone has ever beaten Ellenburger. TWO very short years ago Rory fought a safe decision against Jake. The gap is not as big as everyone thinks. Wonderboy trained with Weidman recently so don't think he hasn't learned something about wrestling after all this time. With the right preparation Rory will be looking at 2 losses in a row.

No! Same reason I don't want to see Gunni vs. Wonderboy.

    They're two of my favourites.

You forget that wonderboy has amazing timing with his kicks...and he doesn't only KO people with kicks...plus there won't be a real reach advantage for rory on this one.

Too much of a step up.

Give him a bit more time to really get comfortable stuffing TDs before you give him arguably 2nd best WW in the world, a big WW at that with great TDs.

Wonderboy isn't as young as others may think. Time is now if he wants to make a run. I think he's ready.

Yeah the "boy" in the nickname and his young look throws people off, he's like 32-33 years old.

And yeah I want them both to fight soon, just think that Wonderboy needs a bit more time to face top 3. Give him Gunny or someone and have Rory beat the toothpick and jesus out of Bendo in the meanwhile. Then they can maybe fight.

Why are people acting like Rory wouldn't just take him down n smash him?

Plenty of people named Jesus around. Not here so much but in the states and south america etc.

Not a big fan of old myths

Rory is too much for him. He would take him down and eventually finish him with ground and pound. Or clinch against the cage and dirty box/ look for takedowns. Stephen is a great striker but Rory isn't that bad himself. He can certainly hang with Stephen long enough to find an opening for a takedown or the clinch.
