Wonderboy is lucky WW has so few MT fighters

Nick is not consistent enough I would think. too many loses to low ranked fighters at the time they beat him. . kj sticks out.

KJ had beaten Nick 5 years prior to that fight, and Nick had since avenged the loss.
Nick Diaz was consensus the top WW outside of the UFC, and was consensus top ten in the division. He had also just beaten BJ (who had snuck into the WW ranks with his close draw against Fitch, when Fitch was thought by nearly everyone to be the champ who never was just because GSP existed despite being incredibly boring).

Nick was a great win, and was legtimately a top contender at WW.

I'll actually buy the argument that Condit lacks real signature wins.... except that he's beaten or fought nearly everyone at WW who is worth mentioning. Rory, Thiago, Kampmann, Nick at his peak, DHK, Hardy one fight removed from title contention (BS I know), and Ellenberger during his reign of terror. He also only narrowly lost to Robbie (A fight tons thought he won, not me, but tons did) and Hendricks (a fight he would have dominated had it been 5 rounds).

Condit is easily a top ten WW of all time, but he's arguably top 5. Who do you put infront of him?
You've got Hughes, GSP, then....??? Pat Militech perhaps if you're being romantic? BJ? It gets real thin after that. Only other dudes who deserve to be mentioned in a top five are Hayato Sakurai, Fitch and Shields - and Carlos probably had more success in terms of accomplishments than Fitch. So yu've honestly probably got only Georges,Hughes, Sakurai, Miletic and maybe Shields infront of him. Oh and Brutal Bob. Forgot about him.

Wonderboy fans are giving be serious dejavu of the Machida era.

Paragraphs are your friend....

That being said, just because Shogun's Muay Thai beat Machida's doesn't mean everyone can replicate it. Shogun was an amazing fighter in his day.
I think TS is more referencing Raymond Daniels and his losses to great MT fighters like Bazooka Joe and Holzken.

All of your favorite MT fighters will be KO'd by wonderboy inside that octagon

I think someone like Maia or an elite level wrestler that could lay & pray him would be the styles that could beat him. I think wonderboy would eat standup fighters for breakfast.

1) I'm putting Pele (Jose Landi-jons) over Condit all time also because of being a pioneer of the muay thai bjj combo (1 of the 1st) and his ko of matt hughes in his prime in the UFC that no 1 talks about. I also put Fitch over CC for consistency. He didn't win 2 lose 2 all the time.
2) Either you win or you don't, finish or decision. If you start putting stipulations on wins/finishes then you go in circles like the million of the same damn threads made on sherdog everyday.
3) You can't erase a loss plus it was at a different weight class. KJ boxed Diaz up. KJ is a really good fighter/boxer but all time, you have to beat him the 1st time.
4) Condit should have beat Robby. I know many thought he won (could have gone either way), but he put himself in that position. It was a pure kickboxing match against an older battle torn vet. No reason CC couldn't ko Robby accept he wasn't good enough to do it. Robby is very good so that's not a knock on CC but if he was an all timer he wins that fight.
5) I'm not screaming lol

1) Pele is a good pick
I'd argue that the only dude Fitch ever beat worth mentioning is Thiago Alves, albeit twice - and I guess Diego. No fault of his own because the UFC never wanted to match him against potential contenders. And I say this as a dude who absolutely LOVED Fitch (against anyone not named Alves)
But even still, what that makes Condit the 7th or 8th best WW of all time?
2) That's fair, but I was only bring that up to illustrate Condit's compeittiveness with the dudes we think of when we think elite WWs of two years ago or so.
3) Meh, Diaz was on what a 10 fight winning streak since then? Including a win in the rematch? I'm not going to argue the point you made, but what I was saying was that Nick Diaz was considered among the best in the world at WW when Condit beat him.
4)Yeah, but again I only put that there to illustrate his competitiveness with top talent. He's fought a whos who, and the only dude to completely school him was GSP. You have to go all the way back to when he fought Bam Bam to find a guy that you couldn't make an argument for him winning if they fought again (again except GSP). That's rare.
5) I got you bro

His straigjt punches are hard and fast.

It would ne just like Mcgregor does, crack then with the rear cross when they are on 1 leg.

Not garunteed but it works well for plenty.

This is pure bullshit.

Karate has destroyed MT on many occassions and especially so in the holy grail of standup sports, K1. Karate being fucked by MT has been categorically proven wrong in K1.

Aside from all the great karate fighters in K1 like Andy Hug, Glaube Feitosa, Jerome LeBanner, etc. the most dominant King of K1 ever, the true GOAT, is a Karateka. Musashi, a karate specialist, destroyed Muay Thai champion David Dancrade as well as beating pure MT World Champ Kaoklai.

Good MT fighters will beat not so good karatekas, and vice versa. A good fighter can compensate for the styles difference.

You'd think the "holy grail of standup sports" wouldn't have so many rules to it. Maybe K-1 is (was) the holy grail of standup sports in terms of name brand recognition but I don't know how someone could really claim that it is the holy grail in terms of pure striking competition.

I mean...you can't even elbow in K-1 and that's the holy grail of standup sports???

LOL, MMA has no MT fighter that can beat Wonderboy.

Alves would get KO'ed by Wonderboy, and if Jose Aldo were the same size as Wonderboy, he will get KOed as well.

Question for you.
Do you think Condit should have more KO's? The promotion likes his style so he gets a lot of good style match ups but they don't end in ko/tko. Now the guys he is facing are the toughest guys in the sport but he just doesn't give off that cowboy cerrone vibe (cowboy is ridiculous). Would like to hear the opinion of a Condinite lol.
edit you are right CC is at least top 10 all time.
