Nope. I thought Cote was going to get his ass kicked. Cote hasn't beaten a top ranked fighter in years.

During the lead up to the Rory fight, I thought that WB would walk through him if he could stop his take downs. Mission accomplished.

Wonderboy will beat Lawler worse than he did Rory. Robbie is just going to get angry and try to get into striking range. Wonderboy will pick him apart whenever he does.

Rory vs Lawler was a striking match that took both of those guys to the brink. Wonderboy made Rory look terrible in their striking match. Lawler going to take Wonderboy down? Doubtful.

both are/were passionate opinions based on very shallow analysis imo.

WB is tricky for anyone, but anyone who thinks he's gonna "stay outside and pick lawler apart" is being very simple and shallow in their analysis. Robbie poses quite a few problems for WB. It's not going to be an easy fight anyway it winds up going. Didn't see anything in WB's win over Rory that makes me think he's going to beat lawler. But that's just me.

I was thinking the same thing when I finally watched the fight. As with most Karateka's they are most dangerous darting in and out, with quick combinations, or counter striking - not close quarter exchanges. If Thompson got into a wild exchange with Lawler; he could end up on the bad side of a vicious KO. But Wonderboy seems way smarter than that. I doubt he tries to out box or out brawl Lawler.

Hopefully Lawler runs through Woodley and we can see this fight before the end of the year.

I see Wonderboy beating Robbie pretty easily actually.

Wonderboy showed that he doesn't mind just being elusive and not getting into brawls for 5 rounds and winning on points. This approach will ruin Robbie. Robbie is usually super conservative and doesn't throw a lot. I mean, he hardly did anything for like 3 rounds against Condit.

That said, when Rory did finally come in swinging on Wonderboy last night, Wonderboy responded by just swinging back wildly. He does that too much against Robbie and Robbie will put him out.
